I will be be a bit down the track for an order, lease on the ST is up in 12 months, probably keep for another 12 months to justify 5 figures plus worth of aftermarket bits, and hopefully the dust has settled on the RS. Craig at rockdale, do we have an arrival date for AUS? Something I haven't seen noted to date.

After too and fro-ing on whether to get a mustang we changed tack and just put deposit
down today on a Nitrous blue RS with standard wheel package.

We are hopeful for may/june delivery.

No haggling to be had here. Best I could get was a ford jacket thrown in !

Thankfully I also had my anti ming mole armour on today.

The XRT in my sig will soon be in the car sales section.

I mean within a matter of weeks, and then they'll be scheduled for build from there, built as they're required and shipped from Germany, which takes ages.........

Had to ask, "how do you know this" ?

From your comment I SHOULD be able to order the same specs as Europe (should Ford AU allow), if they are built on an order basis and scheduled build.

We almost put our money down, took the Mrs in for a look at the current ST, she said "only if it's got a factory sunroof" ................

Tears !

Unfortunately not, Ford Aus is only offered a standard factory build spec, unless the item is offered to fomoco aus, in this case the optional wheel package, it can't be done.

It will only be a matter of time before a tuner cracks the ecu to these cars and is willing to push the limits.

From Carsales:
http://www.carsales.com.au/editorial...s-rs-500-54986

Ford Performance secretly readying more powerful RS. WiIl have 260kW, hit 100km/h in less than 4.0 seconds
Ford has already begun working on a lighter, even more extreme version of the Focus RS even though the current car is yet to be launched.

The more powerful Focus, that could once again carry the nameplate ‘RS 500’, is said to come with a tuned version of the current car’s 2.3-litre turbo petrol that will generate at least 260kW.

Factor in the standard car’s all-wheel drive and that will mean the Focus will hit the 100km/h benchmark, from standstill, in less than four seconds.

As well as the power bump, according to Brit mag Autocar who broke the story late last night, the RS 500 could up to 100kg lighter.

According to the mag, the weight savings comes from a carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic bonnet, wings and roof, plus lighter forged aluminium suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and, even, polycarbonate windows.

To cope with the power the more powerful RS 500 is also expected to come with an additional limited-slip differential on the front axle - a similar option is available on the recently updated Mercedes-AMG A45.

Production issues could mean the RS 500 might be a very limited-run model but it is still expected to come here.

It’s not known how much more Ford Performance will charge for the RS 500. Expect it to command a significant price premium over the $50,990 Ford Australia has already announced it will charge for that standard Focus RS when it arrives in the middle of 2016.

I'd be happy with the standard RS let alone an RS500. I look forward to hearing real test results and reviews.

I was looking at a new vehicle next year - have been eying the lsa powered hsv's. The rs has thrown a spanner in the works and now they are tantalising us with a rs500!.
If they can do this with a focus it is a shame they couldnt continue development of the falcons...
