Nice. I do loved the look of your ute. Apart from Falkeens and Sylox ute, I would have to say yours is one of my favourites on this forums

I just purchased my XR8 from the dealer but demanded he remove and replace the stripes on the rear doors, it had "FPV" etched into the stripes.
I think I can live with stripes on my car but not GT, GT-P or FPV written in them.

Got a friend how put the stripes on his XR8 ute, but had the FPV bird placed where the GTP was, and reversed it for the other side so that the bird always fly's forward when he is in a forward gear.

Melon466, I do believe your correct. Knew the rightfull owner would show up. My son found the pic and sent it to me with the words, "dad, you gotta get like this".

"...looks ok don't ya reckon", Mate I reckon it looks great, well done. I need to find someone in Sydney who does this and see what matches blueprint the best.

On a related issue, having a look through eBay and this is what I found. Someone is selling A TE50 and a TS50 ID plate that was put on the cars from factory. I dont have a problem with people making their car into a Tickford or FPV just dont badge them as one. That is my opinion.

Here are the links:

TS50: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TS50-VIN-ID-T...QQcmdZViewItem

TE50: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TE50-VIN-ID-T...QQcmdZViewItem

Theres no need for stripes on non GT's so many people think there is but theres not..... like people putting Tickford badges on stock falcons or BA XT owners putn FPV badges its not on and it shows the owners are GIMPS....... thats my 2 cents

Why has it become a concern ? people who can't afford the real thing will always copy one. It has been happening for years, I bet a lot of the XY GT"s out there are replica's. I have an XA GT Replica and at the end of the day, it's worth a mint, even though it's only a fairmont with GT badges etc. I can't justify the hefty prices for a real XA GT. Mine just doesnt have the JG33 tags. If it ad's value to your car, then go for it. Although at the moment I wouldnt do it to my XR6T.

Last Saturday in Bendigo at the car wash I seen some dick with a BA Futura and under the number plate he had stuck an XR6 badge :

Im not too concerned about stickers and stripes it's more badges tickford etc, futura/fairmonts etc weren't GIVEN wings to fly :

Iv got the ts50 kit and all and was thinking of getting some ts50 badges to copy. Like have them look the same but say something like ft40 for (ford turbo 4.0lt) would that be gay? Of course id only bother if I did put a turbo on it.

all that customizing, and no colour coded rub strips... Those flutes look good, probably would be better if they ran parallel with the front wheel arch. Nice work nonetheless.

Hey divine, good to see some adding their own indivuality. Where did you get those vents on the guards ? They would be good to put on the Turbo and vent some of that hot air out of the engine bay

Stripes on a BA-BF GTs look tops. But only the white/blue stripe and black/white stripe combos. Wouldn't do it on anything other than a GT.
