I did a search of Carsguide and Carsales for Falcon with over 200kW.
Carsguide has 215 hits, and Carsales has 377 hits.

It is surprising to see how steep the prices are for the FGX Sprint models.

Many of the older FGs are now having high km, but still being listed at quite a lot of money. Being listed at high prices doesn't mean they will sell though.

I’ll take the X series tip all the way to include the old XH, last of the real Utes . I see one or two in the projects section already. They’re not worth much now, who knows one day, maybe! The old E series in general were really the unsung workhorse , they are really worth nothing, getting scrapped or stripped continuously, I’d say one day they might come back. I might be waiting a while!
I know it’s not a Ford but old Valiants in general are way undervalued as are the early XK to XP falcons to a lesser degree. Chrysler had great power plants and trans in the 60’s, they had a good style too.

I think in 10-20 years all Aussie Fords and Holdens will sky rocket in value. Obviously anything that wasn't base model in good condition will be most desirable. There is evidence already, that everything is on the rise and that's with some models still readily available that can be found cheap elsewhere.

I also think it's safe to say the Barra will become collectable with everyone buying $200 wrecker specials. There is places looking at importing them to the States aswell as a package deal. Like everything it's only a matter of time till their all flogged out and start becoming rare.

Look at Cortinas and Toranas that we all bought when they were cheap bang for buck power. We flogged them out and defected till off the road now some sellers are wanting crazy money for a rusted rolling shell. That's not to mention the person that buys them and needs to source all the rest of the rare parts.

I hate seeing these flogged out E series, Au's and B series because people view them as cheap and easy to find. SOHC's & Barra's getting destroyed everyday and the mentality is "ill just by another $200 one from the wrecker". Rather then "Barra the world" it should be "save the Barra"...

Just saying - My two cents - An member of FF back in early 2000's who forgot his login details and hasn't logged in for over 15 odd years Anyway im back lol

My folks still have a VC with a Slant and TF 904, had it since new. I’ve rebuilt it and it’s a sweet cruiser. That trans is smoother than George Clooney on a girls nite out! My GF has a little C180 Merc, nice car but I’d say the TF is a far smoother trans.
I spent a lot of time tooling with Hemi sixes too, great engines, pretty raw in some ways, but the heads were decent and the 265 was a solid performer. The Australian content laws that led to using the BW35 was a let down, I tested many of them to design limits hahaha. I had a 265 with a long runner pacer 4BBL intake I converted to a dual plane, Pacemaker headers and a decent port job and it really was a solid thing off the line. Sorry, off topic.. back to Falcons!

I think any Ford with Tickford enhancements or from FPV could be worth something one day . The T series AU’s , GT , GT-E , GT-P etc would of interest in the future as well. They will only be worth what potential buyers will pay for them ....... you could put a price of $150,000 on something but that doesn’t mean anyone would pay that much . I hope my BF MK2 Ghia 5.4 might be worth something one day - they didn’t produce many......

Originality always a good thing.

The Barras (and Intech SOHC) are what the Aussie Hemi was, for our times. They are currently being used and killed off as cheap, but after they are gone, where do everyday Australians get anything as reliable for long term ownership in such a decent package? My guess is electric drivetrain with far fewer parts.

For the 90's it will be the Tickfords, for 2000s any clean original Barra with the turbos and 8's more.

I note my son's mates all converting over to Barra FGs, any of these to survive the P plate stage they will be nostalgia buys in the future, with the halo models they aren't allowed now worth even more.

Myself I have fond memories of the BA-F XR6, used to hang to get one as a hire car and mostly be disappointed with VZ Commys or Magnas (Magna was actually quite OK). Drove a red BF XR6 on work trip in country SA and people reacted as if it was a Lambo, so much attention!

The other influence is that the 70's muscle is getting to very high levels in price, son checked out some pricing recently and was stunned how much it has gone up in the last 3 years. So 90s/00s currently has a far more attractive cost price while having the substance behind it (Barra).
