Spoke to the Dealer I got my new GT from 12 months ago - whilst in for the 12month service.

My GT is a weekender but considering an XR8 as my daily (lease car).

Their GT price auto on roads was approx $62k - they are not negotiating as they believe they have more than enough demand for the limited supply they will get. Basically take it or leave it.

They are a high volume Melbourne dealer.

Will see what the standard lease company pricing is when it is available later in the week (when Ford add it to the system).

Normally the dealers will quote to beat standard lease pricing but maybe not this time, or at least not yet.

Any added options? Mine had tow and paint and auto and was a shade over 60. QLD.

Nope - definitely a sellers market it seems.

Once Ford add it to the system and dealers know their margins I will do the rounds.

The lease company we use has a price of $49,718 for the XR8
But when talking to a dealer they told me they would not discount XR8 for lease or fleet buyers

The company I use has set pricing and a panel ie you end up getting the car from anyone of a handful of dealers.


Unless you use a better specific quote to lock you to one of the dealers.

Yeah maybe but like I said when speaking to a dealer they aren't going to doing any lease price on the XR8

Well, I spent the weekend away at Bathurst with a Ford employee. Discussed with him the potential issue of limited auto trannies and my circumstances (ie lease not running out until July next year, but wanting auto XR8).

He stated that he is in the same market as me, and will not be looking at securing a car until around March/April. Given that I trust his judgement, I am no longer sweating over being able to get an auto next July.

Sure, there is a risk there, but I'm satisfied that I can live with that risk. If worst came to worst, I'll get a manual anyway.

Take that for what it is worth.

Take care when comparing invoice price when leasing.

It may be that GST is not included (its added on later to the lease rentals) - if thats the case then $50k becomes $55k in reality..

Spoke to my dealer earlier today. They have 4 Xr8's coming between Nov - Feb. All sold. I have a deposit on one of them. I was chasing up delivery dates which they can't confirm as yet. He did say that there will not be any other stock available for at least another 6 months. They are a major dealer in Sydney.

Don't know yet, as of Friday, they claim they don't have final pricing from Ford. He did say that, just like the final GT's they will sell at retail price.

Can anyone confirm the drive away retail price for an Auto in NSW?

It will depend on their "Dealer Delivery" Charge...

Should be for private (based on my contract):

$54690 Auto XR8
$350 Metallic Paint
$484 Rego
$540 Green Slip
$1810 Stamp Duty
$57874 - TOTAL + Dealer Delivery - So I would be going for 59k at the top dollar and 58K my starting offer, don't forget to negotiate, Matts, full tank, white plates in as a minimum, also tints (but I like my own done)

Mind you I was quoted $64990 from another dealer, but am surprised at how many are just quoting them as above and not trying to mark them up. It's just stock that is the issue.

The same as my ST Prestige sunroofs in Burwood all organised through the dealer Ford AU don't do sunroofs factory anymore. You wont even know its aftermarket the finish is factory.

didn't get a quote then, just told them its the same roof as the ST and they charged me 2grand for it that including trucking the car to burwood. To get prestige to install it after delivery was going to cost $2500.
