Call of duty 4

Hi guys has anybody played this game on ps3???
Apart from it being i great game i was wondering what resolutions you guys are getting on ur hdtv's
I bought a Sony bravia xbr lcd tv and it automatically goes to 720p
when the game supprts up to 1080p.
Also after turning it to 1080p mode it seems as if the gaem looks better at 720p???
Anybody care to shed some light for me please?

Unsure on the the tv side of it but getting a PS3 in early jan , ive heard that its a good game ,im still hoping they bring out a rugby game soon.

Cant help ya with the TV mate...but its about COD4

All I need for 1000 points and completion of COD4 is Mile High Club on Veteran

After hours of trying tonight I finally reach the VIP, thought to myself - Ill make sure of this one, shot him in the leg while attempting to get a very clear shot on his head.

WHAT HAPPENS....

You Fail - A true veteran uses a headshot or sumthing stupid like that

.....And back to the start I go

I cannot emphasis how horrible that was for me, I really cant describe it.

you sure your tv is 1080p or 1080i?

720p is better then 1080i

I doubt ps3 would be able to run games at full 1080p at a decent frame rate anyway.

Also trying to run 1080i on a 720 resolution screen will make it look worse due to the downscaling of resolution.

Pretty sure the X series are 1080p, I didnt bother adjusting the resolution on mine - I will try it out sometime this week and see how it comes up

COD4 is an awesome game. I played it on 720p with my XBOX 360 Elite and the graphics were still awesome.

Parents are getting a Full 1080 soon so I will have to move to there.

i'll be playin COD on my wii on a 47" 1080p panel after xmas... it will still look crap though... hehe.

wii controller on ps3 console... plzzz

COD4 is for console kiddies who cant play a real game. Health regeneration and team mates that cannot die is not my idea of a realistic military shooter, look beyond the graphical features. The immersion in single player is the thing that sticks out, and was pretty fun, but if you want a real game try something like GRAW 1 or 2.

afaik the Wii cannot do 1080p

COD4 is a pretty good game, on PC like every other FPS.

i know mate, 480i goodness, hence it lookin like crap... i went and bought the tv earlier this year, and it's freakin awesome, yet still, the only inputs i've put in it are foxtel, the wii and a ps2... talk about wasted panel.

COD4 on PC is awesome.

Playing on a 22" widescreen. Graphics are unreal.

I play it online all the time.

You can still use iron sights / optics in hardcore, and there are advantages to it. The multiplayer is pretty fun, especially on a 24" with a new rig, it's only the unrealistic scripted single player that gives me the sh^ts.

the x series tv i got is a full 1080p tv.
my question is why the 720p looks better than the 1080p ???
i understand that 1080i worse.
The ps3 can support 1080p on some games like virtua tennis 3 so im not sure about this one

I finished the game 1000 achievement points. Mile High Club was incredibly hard I reckon I attempted it 2- 3 hundred times.

Online on PC is excellent, especially hardcore servers. Sounds like the achievements on console are annoying. Just scored my silencer for the AK47 and M14, UAV Jammer, claymores and dead silence and I'm good to go.

yeah the XBR series is very noice, 1080p for sure, but most PS3 games i have played are 720p really
