I don't see why not. I had one of them on my old XE. Installation was pretty straight forward. It shouldn't be too much harder to install on an AU - you will probably need the ECU pinouts, but they're available on the site in the Tech section somewhere, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Where to mount the control pad? I'd put it somewhere within reach of the steering wheel - maybe next to the light switch or somewhere like that.

Should work, but I'd personally try to find a factory setup. You should be able to find one for similar money.

Sounds like you have the factory kit now, so have a look here:

Takes about an hour to install.

sorry to dig up an old thread.

Cruise control has been installed, and i must say, going to FTG and ordering a kit from them was an awesome idea JC, thanks.

Big thanks to FTG, the guys at ford said for parts that came from wrecks, they where in near perfect condition. and fit in record time.

now the trip from Darwin to Trafalgar next month wont be as hard.

I put one in my previous AU2. It worked fine. The only issue is that the vacuum is not sufficient to increrase the revs quickly. What I did was to get up to speed then switch to speed control. It will control the speed OK but is short on power to acceletate up to speed quickly.
I located the button on the dash on one of the unused button locations behind the wiper stalk so it was easy to access.
