HI
I AM ONLY A NEW MEMBER AND HAVE A S1 aU UTE AND A S2 FAIRMONT WAGON. BOTH ARE 4.0L ON MY WAGON IT HAS RECENTLY HAD A COOLANT FILLER TANK REPLACD AND HAVE HAD A OVERHEATING PROBLEM EVER SINCE.(WEIRD) I THOUGHT IT WAS A WATER PUMP ISSUE,OVER HEATING AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS ETC) SO I REPLACED THAT AND THE 2 SPONGY RAD HOSES ASWELL. THIS STILL DIDNT SOLVE THE PROBLEM IVE ELLIMINATED A BLOCKED RADIATOR, UPON PLAYING AROUND WITH THE THERMO FANS IVE FOUND THEY DONT COME ON AT ALL, IVE TESTED( BY HARD WIRING) THE FANS , THEY WORK CAN ONLY ASSUME IT EITHER A TEMP SENSOR OR A FAULTY RELAY SOME WHERE NORMALY THE CAR IS ON "O" ON THE TEMP GAUGE ALSO THE THERMO FANS DONT COME ON WIH THE AC ON (WHICH I HAVE HEARD SHOULD HAPPEN) MY QUESTION IS a, WHERE IS THE TEMP SENSOR? IS IT HARD TO GET TO? B, COULD IT BE A FAULTY TEMP SENSOR EVEN IF MY GAUGE I WORKING? C, WHICH RELAY RUNS THE THERMO FANS? CURRENTLY I HAVE HARD WIRRED THE FANS TO A SWICH SO I CAN TURN ON IF IT GETS TO HOT, WORKS WELL BUT I WANT THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM FIXED ALL HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS |

Although i am unable to answer your above mentioned questions, i simply suggest that you take it back to the place inwhich you had the radiator removed... otherwise you should take it to an auto electrician who can chase down the electrical fault that seems to be linked to the thermofans.
