Default Help me make a logo :) Business REWARD

Hey guys After 7 years of slaving for a chinese importer of quads and bikes Im going out on my own.
www.elstars.com.au is my previous employer :(

Money is very tight but I need to make a logo. Some company asked for $1500 for a logo plus they will design my letter heads for free.

I think its alot .well alot more than I have.

http://crossfire.z8games.com/index2.aspx?newsid=

I love this logo but I dont want to just steal it so Im asking if any one has a bit of time to make me something simillar. It is a completely different industry in another part of the world so I think simillar would be OK :

I can repay in beer or a box (4)of Motul 5100 10-50w motorbike oil.

Its not much but if you have a bit of time I will be in your debt.

It would help if we know what you are going to call your business; I'm assuming you'll be importing quads and dirt bikes, yes?

Thank you,

Might look at this for one of the bikes or quads on the sticker kit,

Think of a Ford or a holden Logo.

I will be importing motorbikes and quads so think bike brand.

The crossfire logo in the second link is exactly what Im after just some small changes and I would be their.

Thank you for the image I will keep it and if i can put it on one of the sticker kits made on a quad or bike,

Any others . your help is very much appreciated.

I asked my girlfriend to see what she could come up with for you. Here's the concept she came up with. It can be adapted to incorporate colour if you wish. (- Fordace's gf on Fordace's behalf :p ...while he's at work, he asked me to do this for him, but he will reply to your responses. Thanks!)

I can't mock it up for you (I can't use PS to save myself... the GF dows all our design work) but I was thinking that the cross-hairs of a gun sight would be a good start for the main image.

I'd think about a strong, simple font coming out of an image like this.

OK you can't just start adding jpgs and cropping images from the web. The design has to be created in a graphics program (eps or cdr) otherwise it can't be reproduced by a printer or embroiderer etc. If you give them one of the these images they will charge a couple of hunded dollars to recreate it anyway because of this. I am in the promotional products business and we do these jobs all day long. Send me what you have and what you want and I will see if it is worth the Bike Oil for me to use my graphic designer to set it up. Also specify the colours you want but remember you will also need a 1 colour version if you want to give out free pens or cheap items etc. sales@silveradoh.com.au

Oh boy.

Reality is that you;
- Can't get a .jpg of the net. It's copyrighted.
- Will need to get a professional to do a logo for you if you're serious about your business. Actually, even if you aren't and it's just a hobby. I did a logo for someone who makes comic books recently.
- Will need it to be print ready. snowcone is right and said it quite vaguely aswell.

All in all, a logo is the face of your company. Amount of people willing to just do one themselves or pay $5 for one is amazing.

So, no offence to a poster like trippytaka (who I know is just trying to help) but logos aren't even made in Photoshop to start with. ;)

The design included by me was done in illustrator and is available as an eps if illusive wishes to use it.

Hey Kocho, understand where you are coming from. However, some people are willing to help others just for the sake of it. The image my girlfriend provided above has been done in illustrator. She is a fulltime graphic designer and has made 1000's of logos over the course of her life.

Just a few more variations to show what it may look like when colour is added.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade but you might need to have a chat to a trademarks/intellectual property solicitor before spending $$$ on the Crossfire brand.

You see, Chrysler has trademarked the word "Crossfire" in relation to motorvehicles in Australia (see link if it works-->http://pericles.ipaustralia.gov.au/a...4&p_rec_all=15)

Even if you have registered the business name for Crossfire, you can still be sued for trademark infingement.
My wife has just been through it with one of her businesses. She and her business partners started an online networking company for women called Australian Womans Diary and registered the business name and the web address. When they officially launched it they received an injuction from solicitors representing Australian Womens Health Diary which informed them they had breached their trademark. Even though they were able to register the business name etc with the government, they weren't allowed to trade under that name. They finished up settling out of court and had to relinquish the name and web address. They had to rename their company National Womens Journal. Was a complete surprise to us so be careful with Crossfire.

Designing a logo is not easy...it's an art in itself.

I tried once and gave up... I would leave it to the professionals.

This is true. But there are people on this board that have talent, i.e chopped. Even if he doesn't do it for a living.

My partner does it for a living, and I see the stress she goes through with some of the clients.

Only noticed this thread tonight, so I'm unsure if a logo is still required, but I whipped this one up anyways. Its a pretty rough draft, with imperfect geometry, colours and typography but it gives an idea of where its headed, so if 'dreams is interested, I'm happy to do a proper one in a suitable format for nix.

What's with these comments? Not everyone who has posted designs in here is an amateur. Posts like these can actually agitate people.

If every amateur in this forum wasn't to post anything, whether it be from modding their car, to taking photos, this forum wouldn't even exist. So perhaps, if all you can say is what you have, stay out of the thread.
