If you know someone with an ozone machine then use that. I use it at the dealership I work at and it completely removes the smell in an hour

If you want to cover the smell go to the supermarket and buy a bottle of 'Nil Odour' from the air freshener section- it is only 50ml but 1 drop placed somewhere in the cabin will cover the smell and last quite a while. Use more and it will burn your eyes!
The last car I had that smelt of ciggy smoke I just washed down as much of the interior as I could and drive around for a while with all windows down. It worked - eventually.

Mine was same, I turned aircon on full speed on recirculate and sprayed Glen 20( lemon) a lot of it and closed the doors. Left it running for 5 minutes, seemed to do the trick. I did also change the filter in the glovebox.

Yup Glen 20 works as well as Bositos Eucalyptus spray from coles or woolies. I emptied half a can n left the car closed up overnight.

Spray all the surfaces with Fabreeze and the smell will be gone.

Another vote for Febreze, it's what I use to keep things smelling fresh. I spray my car seats and carpet with it every now and then to get rid of smells. This is the stuff you want, is usually with the fabric softener and ironing starch in the supermarket.
It's not a perfume that masks bad smells, it contains a chemical called cyclodextrin which traps odour molecules and evaporates them away as the chemical dries out. Also great to keep mattresses and lounge suites fresh. For $6, it's worth a shot.
