Default After market chrome wheel trim.

Trying to stay on a budget bought a set of these for dressing up the wheels, but 3-4 months down track they are looking decidely used, rust tarnish appearing on all 4.
Dont know what my options are but if I got another set would covering them in clear coat or or or

looking for advice please.

there are youtubes about restoring wheel trims, most likely they are kind of disposable
