Channel Seven were interviewing people that were on the Thai Airlines Boeing 747 that suffered an extremely hard landing blowing a few tyres in Melbourne yesterday. One of the people on the plane was Mick Webb, the famous Allan Moffat mechanic and the man behind SVO Motorsport. Good to see that no one was too shaken by this.
So when’s your next flight Mick? : Cheers, Danny

Yeah I saw him on the news as well, when I saw the caption on the bottom and it said "Mick Webb", I was thinking that it sounded familiar, then I recognised him I remember seeing him at a car show a while back!

The championship - touted as the world cup of motor sport - is the concept of 28-year-old Sheik Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum, a member of Dubai's ruling family. The fourth round of the 12-round series will be at Sydney's Eastern Creek on November 6 and there will be races in Europe, Malaysia, Indonesia, Dubai, South Africa, China, Mexico and the US.
Prizemoney is $1.3 million at each round, with a bonus of another $1 million to the winning team at the end of the series. AdvertisementAdvertisement Expatriate Australian team owner Alan Docking, who runs his own formula three operation in Britain, is responsible for the engineering and European logistics of the Australian team. The team manager is Mick Webb.

Yup that was Mick. He even said that he tried to get a plug in for A1 GP but that wound up on the cutting room floor (Cheeky bugger!).
He is listed here under the "Team" section: http://www.a1teamaus.com/ Last edited by Rev28K; 02-11-2005 at 06:39 PM. Reason: additional info |
