a tight low kay GT lugging around heavy **** 20" rims with a average driver would only muster a low 14. Your car should see a similiar time, but its an unknown,, he might of been geing kind to a 50k car, it might of been a tarted up XT, he mightn't be a boy racer... You never know...

Another vote for I doubt he was racing you.
You say you left him for dead (til he was a little blue spot) This would only happen if one car continued to accelerate once blue spot car had reached the speed limit which happens a lot trafic light ****ing contests. (private road & own set ot traffic lights of course) Many people i know that own new high performance cars are sick of everyone wanting to race them at the lights and simply don't bother. Your ED + mods, mods, mods sounds pretty damn good but not much will reduce a GT to a mere spec in the rear view mirror if it was indeed trying to race you.

hmmm would have to hear both sides before i'd agree with you
though if you indeed have them mods etc with a car lighter etc you theory might be correct up till the little blue speck comment anyways.. as said i hope were talking xmas lights on your own private road and not some public road that the community uses on a daily basis at some set of traffic lights(racing of the illegal kind is kinda a big no no here at ffau) so yeah im sure in a fair race you could of got him,but we'll never know unless driver 2 speaks up :P |

tommo, your engine combo actually sounds really good. The only thing you dont mention is wether or not its been tuned (got a chip?)
Having said that, if he was really having a go, he wouldn't be a little blue dot in the rearview mirror.....he'd be right next to you ;) Seriously, take it to Kwinana one night and let us know how you go. I'd be really interested to hear what times you run.

Appears not too many have been too close to a BA GT. And next on state your claim we have.......................................... If it doesn't have a timing slip it didn't happen! |

Have to go with the "he wasn't trying" theory. I admit that with the work you have and the unconfirmed power, you would give hime a good run, but not to level you mention. To have that sort of win in a (illegal) race, considering a standard GT is a low 14 or high 13 second car, you would have to have a 11 second car to put that sort of distance on him (I don't think so).
I get a lot of people that think they have to race my car at lights. There are also a lot of people that probably brag to their mates that "I whipped a XR8 today, it was no contest, I blew his doors off". Guess if I used more than 1/2 throttle on take off from the lights it would be a different story? I don't bother as I know how quick my car is (13.6) and I don't feel that I need to prove it to them. If they would like to meet up at willowbank, that is a different story. Sorry mate, he wasn't trying.
