It is likely that the AFL competition for 2006 will have to be cancelled.
Under the new Anti Terrorism Laws, the Bombers are banned. The new Industrial Relations legislation rules out the Dockers and the avian flu epidemic is wreaking havoc with the Crows, Eagles, Hawks, Magpies and Swans. Any transfers to the kangaroo's,Cats, Lions, Dogs and Tigers must now be quarantined for at least 12 months. Religious vilification laws mean that no one can legally barrack for the Demons or the Saints. This only leaves the Power and the Blues who no one wants to barrack for _________________ :monkes: |

Is THAT the reason is was cancelled? I thought it was just because they were a bunch of tight-shorted gaylords...

Well.... would appear the sport is a popular alternative for non-bogans/dimwits who prefer a game of running and kicking skill to a game of dudes lining up and running at each other head on for an hour.
Oh yeah. It's such a gaylord sport. They're such homo's with their hot girlfriends and the way they thump each other in the head when they get angry. It's just like an episode of queereye! Not like that rugby league. It's a real mans game. A bunch of blokes line up, run head on at each other repeatedly for an hour, and give each other wedgies, and roll around in the mud together. People are funny.

You want to roll around with nick in the sand eh waity? :P
My playing AFL style will mean I won't get tackled, as I believe I am far to quick for any of you knuckle draggers :P, and you will spend the game running after me as I run the field scoring goal after goal dammit. why must I always be the one man crusade.

AFL
the only sport in the world where you score points when you dont acheive your objective... i think it was invented by mums when they realised there kids might not make it in the real world "dont worry if you cant kick between the posts son, you still got one point and thats all that matters...."

Think of it this way. Your objective is to score points. If you can kick the ball through a couple of places, varying in difficulty. You get more or less points depending on where you kick it. That, my dear friend, is one of the fundamentals of sport. Objectives requring greater skill, are worth more reward. Just like, hmm, a bullseye in darts or archery. Or, HOLD UP! A race win in motorsport!! You get points for winning a race. But in a comp, you also get points for not winning!! Second...third, get less points. Wow. Stupid motorsport. I reckon its just invented by mums. :MrT_anim: It's amusing to me how the vast majority of AFL fans manage to quietly go about supporting their favourite code, without going out of their way to annoy leage fans, while the vast majority of league fans are at all times desperately attempting to put AFL down through vacuous homophobic or just plain idiotic generalisations.

Here I was thinking this was serious! Imagine my dissapointment when I learned its all just a cruel joke ! Stupid game !
The only reason reason these gays have hot girlfreinds is because some girls like gays! The girls dont want anything from them , and the gays dont want anything from the girls ! So they actually make best freinds work without complications ! Why do they punch eachother in the head ! Maybe he punched his gay mate , because his gay mate wont punch him ! If ya get my drift !hehehehehe. AFL ( All Foggot Like ) is the only sport I know where you get a point for missing ! BUy they had to introduce that point or the little boy who ownes the ball would take it and go home , and the other boys would all be left there miserable . No , not because they dont have a ball to play with anymore , because the boy who owned the ball had such a sweet little *** ! Hahahahahahahah !

Just love that in EVERY thread with AFL in the title, even one for tipping you'll get people who dislike it come in and bag it. It is seriously EASIER to stay out. You'll never get that 2 minutes of life back. (this thread excluded as it has given you false hope)
As for AFL being the only "consolation" game in regards to scoring. You could argue that basketball has a tiered scoring system. Get it in from 30ft and we'll give you 3 points but if you're not good enough, move a little closer, although it'll only be worth 2 points. You still "scored". Back on topic.. 1st post was good.

to add to the first post:
I don't believe that Jeff Kennet will condone a club such as the Blues, considering his stance on depression. That only leaves the Power and with the controversy over the wind generating electricity farms being proposed for Warnambool even they are running out of energy. I guess it'll be the A-league (soccer) for next year seeing the rest of Australia has jumped on the Socceroos Bandwagon |

I hope soccer makes a resurgence in Australia, as it is my favourite of the lot.
It's excellent how noone, as yet, has managed to come up with *any* credible arguments as to why exactly AFL is supposedly "stupid". Only dribble such as "Why do they punch eachother in the head ! Maybe he punched his gay mate , because his gay mate wont punch him ! If ya get my drift !hehehehehe." (yeah. keep it up tiger)

Trophy women who i am sure have absolutely no interest in the $$$$ earned by an AFL player and their many business interests. It's all about the love, right? Thumps in the head.... is that what you guys call it when you grab each other by the shirt and shake em back and forth? I guess, it'd be a shame to actually have a swing and cop a 10 week suspension for it. But then, does give you an opportunity to be seen on sports tonight in your suit!!! *meh* if AFL is so damn popular then they must be doing something right. It just sucks living in a city with 1 million people and 2 teams. Aint big enough for the two of em....

Obnoxious, yes!
I suppose AFL is gay because it is an AUSTRALIAN sport, where we eat meat pies and drink VB. Cop the rugby, where you might be lucky to find an intoxicated person in the stadium! I ask you, is that Australian?

Heh. But AFL is gay because OMG they wear short pants. Interestinly, I hadnt actually paid much attention to their pants. I was more focused on the game, as normally, it is highly engaging.
By the way, you sir, should hold the title of greatest avitar on this forum.
