Default Argh! Spiders!

I have spiders building webs and making babies everywhere in my car, in the side mirrors, indicators, boot, petrol cap EVERYWHERE and it is absolutely disgusting.

Has this happened to anybody else before? What can I do to stop it? I know that if you spray fly spray etc you're likely to screw up your paint and what not, so we haven't done that.

Any suggestions? I really hate spiders, they scare me to death!

Krys.

Hahaha, nothing funnier than seeing a chick hit the brakes and getting out of the car as if it was about to blow up, doing that little "brushing the spiders off" dance. Sorry, just makes me laugh.

I get spider webs in my side mirrors mainly, I just drown the spiders when I wash the car. All I can suggest. But if they were in the car, that'd be a differant story.

Yeh Im not sure how insect spray would go on the car exterior. Try it, just dont get it on the paint maybe?!

Leave the car out in the hot sun for a few hours the heat will snuff them out if they live in the cabin I had a pesky huntsman in the car for a few days and could not catch him and the heat baked him to a crisp - don't use insect spray at it knackers the plastic and vinyl trim

It's been in some really hot days lately (38degree +) and it appears to have made them breed more?

One of my female friends had a hunsman infestation in her car so i went to bunnings and got one of them Mortein insect bombs, disconnected the car batery and let it half off in the car (too much for a small area for a full can) closed the doors and let the gas sit for a while then aired it out and no more spidies on the inside.

As for the outside, use some Mortein surface spray on non-painted areas like the undercarrage (not on the exhaust!) and behind the mirrors, it lasts a while, weather permitting.

Haven't heard anymore spider stories from her for a while.

If you use a high pressure hose, like at those self-serve carwashes, you should be able to blast the ones out of the mirrors and indicators. I've sprayed surface spray where I park my car now and haven't had any spiderwebs on the car for ages.

I don't think trying to cook the spiders inside the cabin will do much if they're all outside the cabin ;)

I think we're all missing the point here........think outside the square people.......ANTI THEFT!!! After all, most car thieve's are cowards, I believe a car with mirrors, doorhandles etc covered in spider webs would be less attractive than one without, encourage, even nurture the little critters, a spider or 2, makes the car thieves shoo........... : :

I think you missed the point, I'm a girl whose terrified of spiders! My poor Mum put fuel in the car today and had 50 odd spiders crawl up her arm, that is not what we're talkin' about. Thieves wont want it, and I'll be too scared to drive it!

Cool

Stick the car in the garage and let off a whole can with the doors open (car doors) you'll probably get rid of the spiders in the garage aswell.

What the bloody hell, thats just bad. Just let some wasps loose in the car, they'll sort the spiders out. Then when the wasps become a problem, which they most likely will, you can either unleash some frogs and/or birds into the car. This process may take weeks, but in the end, it's all good.

That's a really good suggestion. If only I had an enclosed garage....

I think the Great Wite Shark may cause more damage than good.

This is crazy. I'm so glad i live far away from FordGirl!!!! Haha

Seriously is it a problem in your area or is it just the poor ford thats copping it? Maybe they like your car wash, or where you park it at night or something else isencouraging them???

Can you try the insect bomb inside the parked garage method as suggested?

Hugs are not needed here. Stop being a girly man and sort out the spider problem. Oooh, you have an insect problem, want a hug ?
