Default Custom extractors for a 4cyl

Hey guys,

I currenlty have a Ford Fiesta, and was thinking about purchasing some extractors. I understand that custom ones would need to be made, but what should I be looking for in terms of quality and build. Should i maybe just get a full system done?? I already have a 2inch catback. How much gain would i get either way?

Can anyone recommend places that do make custom extractors or can do a full system for under $1000? Ive heard of Hi Tech Mufflers doing extractors for $450, but not too sure if its quality.

Any help on this subject would be great as i am not too familiar with the whole thing.

Cheers

Damo :

You sure you can't get off the shelf items? Try a few different exhaust shops. Surely you can get a decent set off the shelf. Custom will always be better but not for your wallet.

HAHAHAHHAHA wow that would be a smart option?? right?? But infortunatley ive got a 4cyl not a six or eight and proud of it. Obviously it wont be breaking a dyno, but anything better than it is now is a bonus.

Brenx i will take ur advice and ask around diff shops and see what they have available but the vibe im getting from other fez owners is that a customer job might be the only answer.

Does any company import bits from the UK. They should have them.

Maybe get a bunch of Fiesta owners to get in one set and get a local shop to make up some copies of it, then average out the cost of the whole excercise. Some of the bolt on bits for Japanese cars are copies - i.e. Mugen replica headers for ITR's.

Ring up HM headers. They may like to make one up and use your car as the prototype for fitting (they did that with my old CRX).

Hi tech have a pretty good reputation as I undestand it.

Try and grab Performance Ford Magazine from the UK (Borders) and have a look at the ads. I'm sure there is something there
