Default El Xr Front On Eb2

HI has anyone done this or seen it done?
i really want to do this as i have to get new guards and bonnet anyways.
i have seen a photo once before, dunno whether it was photoshop or anything, but it was dark green and looked ssssseeeeeeeeeeex.
i'm pretty sure all e series doors are the same, but was wondering if there is any extensive mods needed to fit the panels etc.
any help would be appreciated.

i'm not sure the extent of the mods required to anything else, but its deffinately doable.

thanks ef i didn't think of the rad support.
i had a look at an el and where the guards bolt to the inner guard at the top along the bonnet line, it's different cos the bolts are driven toward the outside on el's, and on the eb's they are driven downward if you get what i mean. i think that could be a problem.

Yeah I did hear the inner guards have to be swapped. Dont forget the boonet latch is different too
And I think you'll find the two (as far as I know) people who have done it was due to fact the inner guards were accident damaged anyway.

One of the guys who had it done said it cost $5k and that was a few years ago now.

I saw something very similar to that in Adelaide, I didn't like it though, too square to have a tapered front. Looked too "frankensteinish".

niko...el xr's are holding their value well, which is good for owners but bad for people like me who might consider buying one.

Minuim a half decent example would cost you is $9k for a I6 and $11k for the V8.

its not the price thats the issue, its the fact that it would look like an abortion gone wrong...

better off getting a GT kit, or something that was designed for the car...lol

have you seen it done? i have and in my opinion it looks tops, eb rears look better than an el rear anyday. as i said the doors are the same so there wouldn't be any issues with blending it in.

You'd want to at least change the mirrors and door handles to ef/l one's aswell I reckon.

I reckon it would look really weird, like a VN Commodore I saw fitted with a VS front and a modified VX HSV bodykit. The EA-ED have a very different style to the more rounded EF-EL. No offence, but I wouldn't do it.

funny that its practically the same body...dont even have to modify the doors coz ea-el had same front doors...lol

you have hardly modified your car, so commenting on someone that does want to modify means u got a tad more bias :P

Well. I do want to modify my car, It's just that I don't have the money to do it! Whether or not I've modified my car, I still have plenty of idea of what looks good and what doesn't :P As for being the same body, besides the doors, there aren't too many similar panels. Even the roof was changed. Ford did an excellent job of making the EF look completely different to the ED. I just don't reckon the car would look right.

It actually looks very good, i did contemplate doing it when i had my front end done after my Winton Experiance.

There was an EB getting around Wagga a few years back woth an EL XR front, looked tuff as.
