Default EA SVO's what are they worth?

Hey, havnt been on the e-series forums for a while now:P

Was just wondering how much EA svo's are worth, today noticed one near my house has got a for sale sign on it (been waiting for this day for about 2 years now:P) , and am going to call the guy tomorrow, but before i do i thought i'd just check how much these are worth?

Its a nice red over grey colour looks in good nick, dont have an idea on trans or km's

also were there any performance upgrades on the svo's to make them better than say a GL?

This car comes at great timing aswell : 2weeks ago i bought an XE as a project car now this car pops up for sale, lol

Anyway thanks in advance for any help.

he had the wagon for ages! lol

umm funky looking cats on extractors if it was optioned, updates on the cluster "svo" sticker and mild badging around the car

ye ive been told i'm insane lol
but alot of my reasons were valid for changing the cars:P

The 1st EA, was the biggest mistake to sell it loved that car but i wanted gas

The ED Wagon, was bashed up and eventually the motor gave way and i cbf fixing it, plus it had that fulle sick ferrari side scoop which was getting a little annoying aswell

The next EA,NIKO's old car (project one) ye i kinda F****D it up and decided it was too much work to fix

The AU i bought real quick because the ED broke and i needed something to get me around

The VX i didnt even want a new car at the time but i was just browsing thru the trading post, and i noticed a MANUAL vx spac for real cheap i thought it was too good to be true so went to check it out the car was immaculate and i wanted a Manual car since the start of time, so i done a straight swap for the AU all i paid for was the extended warranty

The XE i got after searching for a project car for a long time, will probably keep it anyway just not work on it at the moment

The EA SVO is too good a chance to pass up if its a good price, im not getting the ea yet, i havnt even had a look at it yet! just keep driving/walking past it and noticed it had for sale on it today

not a chance niko. I know for sure! even your stock diffed EL should smoke a VX they arn't quick, the autos are just as quick. I have driven a VX 5 speed that a guy at work owned, they severly lack top end just like my mums VS.

And Tommy i'll let you know when I head up to heathcote . :P I just hope you don't have e-series stickers on it. ;)

I would say around the $5000 mark. It depends on condition/k's/trans/options etc.

When I was looking for a daily when my motor dropped it's guts last year I checked out 2 SVO's for $2500, and $3000.

The first felt like someone had absolutely messed up the timing, had key marks all over it, interior was all stiff and uncomfy and it jumped around like a drift car.

The second one had been hacked up to fit a EF motor with coil pack, the guy spent like $5000 doing this and it still went like ####. The suspension was also shagged, making the car feel and sound like a ex-Gill/Sundeep spec paddock basher over the tiniest bumps. And the worst thing, someone had pulled out the front seats and put in standard ones.

In other words, I was going to get what I paid for, and you should prob expect the same if you find one cheap. The worst part about SVO's is that they don't have ID plates from SVO.

Anyways, got to run so I can't finish what I was going to say.

Do what Gunns did and buy a good one for the right price. His is mint.

yeah good SVO's are horn, just about the only EA I would ever buy again (possibly a brock I guess)

But like sundeep said, its a shame they never got there own ID tags, would have made them alot more appealing.

Still, the look very sexy.

Did the Brock falcons ever come out as turbo's or just n/a?

As i saw a red turbo brock EA for sale the other day and was wondering if thats factory/complianced or an aftermarket job? That was around 9.5k if i remember correctly.

There was a red turbo brock on the cruise. 250rwkw. he wanted $16K. It wasnt a factory turbo, he had the factory stock motor out of the car but included in the sale.

i like how he has painted the coolant res.
Maybe should have left a strip clear so he can still measure the level.

SVO's are deffinately hard to stick a price on, biggest factor I think would be the model. SVO did two different model ea's, they were the s-pac and the fairmont ghia.
S-pacs in good condition will usually pull $5000 stock as a rock, and i've only ever seen one ghia for sale and he wanted about 9k for it.
SVO's wern't a standard package either, they had a list of options which the customer chose from.

These options were:

Full svo sports suspension upgrade
Adjustable camber pin kit
Recaro sportsline seats
Mesh headrests
Rear headrests
Svo momo leatherbound steering wheel
Momo leather gearshift knob
Svo front and rear spoilers
Reflex lense (tail lights)
Svo custom baked paintwork
Svo id badges
Svo grille
Svo 16" x 7" alloy wheels
Spare steel wheel and trye
Svo alloy spare wheel
225/50 16" Performance tyres
Svo maxiflow exhaust system
High diff ratio
Side pockets
Svo prestige floormats
Arrow high performance brake pads

So oviously value of the car would also depend on how many of these options it had. But more importantly the condition of it.

Hope this helps _2:

yeah I saw that brock in an add somewhere, didn't know it was that mint though, the side shots looked a bit average.

Nice car, but 16g's for an EA is pushing it, I know its had alot of cash spent on it but still.

Ahhh I've seen that one too if it's a 5.0L like Dan said. It's often around Knox. Off the top of my head it's got a Brock bodykit on it too - looks pretty nice.
