Unhappy performance dud of the year

Around 4 months ago i purchased a demo rapid typhoon from city ford ,TTF 482 it had 400km on the clock. When i brought it i was only permitted to drive it around the block and i now know why, in 4 months it has had 6 gearboxes,2 tailsharfts,a complete rear end and new wheels and after all of that im still stuck with a car with a vibration and noise.
Every expert from FPV and tremec have come out and driven it and all they do is blame one another i reacon ive driven a ford courtesy car as much as iv'e driven my own.
The guys at city ford say there's nothing more they can do to fix it so im stuck, all i want is my car replaced. They were quick to take my money and arn't so quick to replace it.
It seems the only option i have is to sue the ford motor company.
I know that out of every batch theres a dud one,you would think that a billion dollar company would realise this too. Insted of getting the performance car of the year i ended up with a lemon.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles with your car.
Is it a BA or a BF?

I spoke to this guy yesterday at work & recommended he join here for some possible help to this problem!
He really has become disillusioned with his dealer AND FPV's response so far.
The guy IS genuine!...
After having a never ending smile on my dial since picking up my F6,( AND from the same dealer) then to hear this tale of woe... Almost felt guilty telling him how rapt I was in mine!
Come on FPV... Surely something can be done?

Ohhh.. And it's a manual BF. btw

I cant do anything to help from here, but I have a XR8 manual BF. Aside from the klunking that I am used to now, the box seems bullet proof. There must be something taking out the gear box's. But you have had several diffs and drive train???? Wow this car sounds like it is cursed.

Sorry dude, ford public relations and keep a log of all your contacts with ford. Even to the point of recording your conversations.

Good luck.

You did not nuy anything from tremec, it is not a problem between you and them.

You did buy something from FPV via a dealer. Do not stress, you will not need to sue them. If they stop helping go to fair trading, they will sort it.
There is obviously a major problem with it, you will be ok.

It is REALLY annoying when your new toy plays up. I would be upset too. I have found FPV to be quite genuine in their dealings with me although others may disagree.

Good luck with it.

There has to come a time when enough is enough when FPV just replace this car with a new one, and use his old one I think for research purposes. They make enough money from the sale of these cars, that surely they can afford to just give him a new car. Afterall, it is their product, and if they want FPV customers to become loyal FPV customers, then it makes good business sense to replace the car. With the car being plagued by so many problems (6 gear Boxes is a real problem) they could learn something from in house testing of the vehicle. Good for development work.

You must be a well natured chap because i feel that bad for u i could just about go and give em a slap over the head myself. Seriously that is about as low as u can go from ford, have you gone the savage approach because sometimes it gets u nowhere but it makes u feel good.I think there is a lot more stories like this 1 that noone ever hears about. I wish that more people could just see the ba bf as a facelifted au and not expect too much after all apart from bumpers they are almost the same car :ticking: i think i would have an assault charge if that was my car :

He IS a very mild mannered guy, but TOTALLY pi33ed off with Ford... Can you blame him??

As for "lot's more stories like this"... I wonder just HOW many more?.. It isn't "compulsary" to join AFF when you purchase a new ford, so there are literally thousands of buyers out there that have no idea we exist.
I know it's only ONE, but if this isn't rectified (AND quickly) there's ONE more to either the darkside or imports.

Hmm...that is BS.

In a market were customer loyality is pretty important you would think they would treat people better.

One gearbox, ok crap happens; two thats just bad luck, six is a joke.

Not that I am taking sides, but its not totally FPV's fault, but they should take responsibility as they are the ones selling it. This seems like a geniune case for the car to be scrapped and a new one to replace it.

FPV/Ford should use these "opportunities" to find out what the heck is going on, they can always use that car for development anyway.

I purchased a brand new F6 from city ford mid July and it has been fine.

The few very minor issues I have had have been addressed promptly.

My experience has been a positive one.

I feel sorry for you, I had the same fear when purchasing mine, that it would be a lemon.

I know it can be stressfull, stay calm and keep on the case until it is sorted.

Don't think there is a need for the as it looks like they are trying 6 gearboxes means that ford has tried to fix it 5 times there, strange thing is that i hadn't heard of a T56 failure on a falcon before now and this bloke has had 6!

Strange as it sounds like it's stock where there are others running very hot 6T's and Boss's and they havn't broken?

have those imbosile dealership so called technicians thought about a possible engine problem for the vibration? might be a balancer or even crank problemi mean they have changed gearbox and tailshafts that many times it doesnt take an idiot to think the problem might be elsewhere. im only saying this from what i have read so i may also be incorrect.

I agree.

Good luck getting some where. I know one person that had their car brought back by Ford & very good deal on a new one.

How can a car have 6 boxes put in it? The chances of 5 boxes all being stuffed when all the other ones in other cars are fine is impossible.

Sounds like they got a first year apprentice diagnosing at that dealership.

Can you describe the vibration and noise?

If any dealer told me I was only allowed to take a car around the block on a test drive I would have to be suspicious from the word go.
Good luck with sorting it out.

Come on ford your upsetting the wrong people. As bucky said if FPV want their customers to become loyal customers they should treat them a tad better then this guy has been treated. I hope all goes well for you mate and you get it sorted out

Poor build quality and Frod red tape were the reasons I got rid f my AU3 XR6 (owned from new) for a new Mazda 3. And guess what? This car doesnt rattle and carry on. I will never own a new or late model Ford again.
