Angry Rome Cancelled !!!!!!!!!!!!!

9 has cancelled ROME because it didn't rate. Only 770.000 viewers.
It is much better than all that Survivor, Travel, reality crap that is on tv.
Nice boobs, sex scenes and graphic violence. GREAT !!!
ROME will be back in summer, in a late night timeslot. www.crikey.com.au (not Steve)
Good on ABC for showing Sharpes Challenge on sunday night. It would be good if the original series is also shown. It has never been on free to air tv.

Sharpe is a brilliant show, ive been enjoying it on UKTV. Sean Bean (sp?) is a top notch actor and his character is great. Also good to see its pretty much historically accurate, as im 1st generation Australian born from british parents i find the british military history side of it very interesting.

I didnt bother with rome. Not my kind of thing.

Nine love doing this to its viewers, and I seriously doubt it will be on in the summer. This show was promoted at the start of the year and was scheduled to be screened Fed/Mar but they decided not to. They promote many of their shows as a season finale when in fact they aren't, just to get more viewers. No wonder Nine is loved only by over 55's, because the rest of us are downloading the shows they pull off air.

Do you know there is the Sharpe Appreciation Society ? They visit the battlefields in the books etc. $40aus a year
The Sharpe Appreciation Society was formed in 1996 amid growing demands from fans wanting more information about the books, TV series, the people involved in making the series, the Napoleonic period, weaponry, in fact anything remotely connected with Sharpe.

After finding there was no central point of contact for fans, Chris Clarke, now secretary, made contact with Richard Rutherford-Moore (historical and technical advisor to the series) and wrote to the author Bernard Cornwell as well as Malcolm Craddock, one of the producers. With Richard Moore's help, Chris started the fan club in July 1996 expecting 50 to 100 fans to join her. We now have 1300 fans across the world and they are still joining! In May 1998, we held our first convention, where we were joined by Bernard Cornwell, Malcolm Craddock, Muir Sutherland and some of the actors involved in bringing the world of Sharpe to life (including some of whom hadn't worked on the series for years). It says a lot for the passion held for Sharpe by the fans as well as the actors who still feel something for Sharpe and come along to various events to meet fans.

We are the official fan club, approved by the author, producers, Carlton Television and Central Television. For more information, please write to Chris who will be pleased to send you an application form.

Australian Sharpe
I am very pleased to announce that Granada Media have recently finalised a deal in Australia for the first 14 Sharpe films on DVD. These will soon be available for purchase through www.timelife.com.au.

Sharpe's Challenge will also soon be available to purchase throughout Australia via BBC Worldwide, although we don't have a date at present.

Sharpe is a great show, hard to believe it was only written 10 or 15 years ago. Hornblower is a great production too and very accurate as well, even down to little things like Horatio having to save money on his uniform by havinf Pinchbeck show buckles instead of Sterling ones.

Sorry for the O/T, I didn't watch Rome, though it sounds downloadable!

Are you talking about the fact that Rome is actually on tonight? Nine changed back their schedule, they told advertisers it was going to be cancelled, they told tv guide publishers it was cancelled. It wasn't just a net rumour.
