Default Doing a Skaifey

Came across this on the way back from woomera on a work trip.
We were the first there (or well to stop) and found the young bloke lying on the side of the road.

The lake was so boggy we couldnt get very close and only had rope long enough to reach and it wouldn't budge...

When asked why he was on the lake he said 'I was trying to do a skaifey'

I dont know how they got it out/ if its even out yet...lol....

Pictures speak for themselves.....

I have to put up with heaps of "skaifey" drivers whenever i drive around Frankston, or on Springvale Road.
Also nowadays, lots of "Ingalls".... :

Was his next sentence "well it looked pretty dry!"? He's gonna have to spend bloody ages cleaning them rims, otherwise he'll be wheel-wobblin all the way to Port Augusta!

yeah mate he's out now, The guys brother in Law came to the rescue with his Land cruiser 400k round trip, but recons it was worth it for the laugh.

It took 2 snatch straps and a length of rope; the Ute is now missing the front and rear bumper/ spoiler, the brakes are full of salt and rite about now it will be developing some nice rust everywhere. LOL

I think it has something to do with the fastest factory ute record on salt lake that skaifey drove

He's darn lucky, water below the salt crust on salt lakes can be 1 0r 2 meters deep. He'd get more than a bit of salt in his brakes if that was the case here...... :hihi:

Or maybe "doing a skaifey" is just being a knob head.

I thought it was Ford that did the salt flats thing? Maybe he was dissorientated in the heat. Lucky you found him. Sure he thought his number was up.

I heard that the Scaif ute had a lot of material removed to make it lighter, including doors & bonnet etc
