You sure that's a REX

Far out, I didn't think it could get any worse. I was wrong.

What are the designers thinking ?

It looks very confused, and I think they are trying to appeal to a different (broader)market with this one.

Not my cup of tea.

I assume thats covered and they're testing the model.

Pointless until you see the thing properly and even moreso in the flesh.

C'mon guys, as the last few guys have said, bit hard to base your decision based on pics of a test mule. I'm sure if you saw some Ford/FPV test mules you may be surprised how a great looking car can hide under all that ugly camo.

Looks ugly at the moment, but im not going to jump to conclusion; I hate hatchbacks so, ill wait to see what the sedan looks like. Plus i remember shooting my mouth of about the MY 06 Subaru Impreza from Spy pics until i saw one in real life and liked it.

I'll wait till all the covers are off before I have an opinion on it's styling. They've gone to some great lengths to camoflage it, not just the usual front and rear car bras.

Subaru want to loose the "Boy Racer" theme that has been hovering over the WRX's head since Day dot.

I know that I would rather a XR5T like WRX compared with an Astra VXR and even the Evo.

I seriously doubt that's a Rex. Current model is only a year old. Current Legacy is what, 3 years old?

The 06 was ugly, but not ugly enough to rush out completely new panel work. Plus it won't lend itself very well to a sedan.

The current model is still just a facelift of a car that came out in around 2000. Sure, the front panels and the taillights are different to the old bug-eyed Impreza, but a lot remains. It is due for replacement

Oh yeah. I forgot. Gimme a break, haven't worked there for 6 months!

But I still doubt it's a WRX.

It's widely believed to be the hatchback version, I'm guessing they will continue sedan variant.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/09/...-wrx-hatchback

I'm just glad the pignose is gone. Not due out to around 2008 maybe so here's to hoping I get a new job and upgrade so mine doesn't depreciate too much.

I wonder if they will stick in the SI mode that the new Liberty has got. Tuners I believe are already developing flash tunes for them.

That almost looks photoshopped! Doesn't look that good but then again it's a hatchback. I will wait until the sedan pics get released before I make up my mind.

The thing that makes me think they will still have a sedan variant is because they call it the 'WRX Hatchback'. If there were no sedan, wouldn't they just refer to it as the 'WRX'? Might just be me lol!

They say Porsche designers are the laziest designers in the world, well subaru especially with the current model and this future model has to be the worst designers in the world.
