Same motor, the only thing is the headers, the E series has a different setup to the AU, but thats should be no worries, just get extractors for an EF/L & that should be it.

You'll need to fit your dizzy, injectors, fuel rail and sensors. Need new plug leads with 90 degree ends. Belt gear can probably be made to work but it'd be easier to just slap your old stuff on. Trans are the same anyway pretty much.

yeah, AU XR8s get coil packs (or something similar) instead of a normal dizzy. The base V8 in the au still has a dizzy though. I cant see a real performance enhancement, but there must be a reason.

will the factory EF computer be ok with the new engine? Ie fuel and ignition timing etc.

EF ECU will be fine if you use all your sensors, dizzy and what not. It's the same engine with different heads and manifolds.

Three slight issues;

No provision for the intake temp sensor in the AU manifolds (**** if off to the intake pipe, mine runs fine)
EGR won't work. ECU will chuck a spaz and throw a code. Some people wah about pinging but mine doesn't.
E-series TPS won't bolt straight onto an AU TB. A few minutes with the dremel making the holes bigger works though.

well I must have seen a dodgy au. had a dizzy on it as per early efi windsors. No idea what they did with the computer but... maybe it had aftermarket management, which is pointless on an otherwise standard car.
