I pulled into a North Shore servo last Sunday. A woman gets out of the car stopped in front of me (at the first pump so I couldn't get to it, the other pump was free but she didn't move up to it).
She grabs the windscreen cleaning squeegee and cleans the windows. I patiently wait behind her, it's a beautiful day and I'm in no rush. She finshed cleaning the windows and proceeds to wash her car while at the pump. I'm now starting to get annoyed a little (after all, it's a beautiful day and I'm in no rush). She washes the car with the window cleaning squeegee! by now I'm very annoyed and couldn't move because being a typical North Shore servo it's packed. I'd finally had a gutfull and was about to have a go at her not because I was in a rush, it was a beautiful day, but how could anyone do that to a poor car! Finally she noticed I was getting dirty and she moved her car so I could get to the pump. The other thing that stopped me from having a go at her stupidity was that she owned a Camry and I started to pity her.

Reminds me of a couple of weeks ago, I was waiting to fill up at a servo and a young girl was in front coming back from paying. Her fuel door was still open and thought I would do the right thing and tell her about it....but i had a blank and couldnt remember what it was called.
Anyway, I yelled out to her and all I could say was "your flap's open" haha She laughed for a bit till she realised what was going on, meanwhile me and the missus were crouching under the dash in tears of laughter! |

LOL @ Rodderz. Nice one! (it could be argued that for her to take it the wrong we she had to be thinking the wrong way in the first place)
I will admit i have been known to wash bits of poop off the paintwork in the Falcon off with the window washer, then use the water available to wash it off afterwards. In the Focus i wont do it though as i left many a mark in the paint doing that. Nothing shits me more than people who dont go the whole distance to the next available pump i,e. if there is one in front of them free they still wont move for you. If possible i go round them and box them in and make sure i take my time paying for it, just to return the favour.

LMAO I've done that once before as well. Damned if i was gonna pay for a car wash lol. Common sense prevails these days and I just do it myself properly. The XR has never had a squeegee wash.

Having worked at a service station I can verify that Cab drivers often use this method to clean thier cabs, When you consider 90% of service stations would change the water in the squeegy buckets once a shift that is 3 times a day for each 8 hour shift, I also used to put in a squirt of dishwashing liquid. If you look at the water and just how dirty it is you will see just how common a pratice this method of washing a car is. Cabbies are just too scaby to pay for the car wash either at the servo or where I worked we had an ajoining driveway with a car lovers.

We sat behind a Honda thingymabob on Sunday. Not only was it washed with the windscreen scrubber it was then dried with the rubber squeegy.
Luckily they didn't hold us up - my wife just pointed and laughed, me I could only stare in disbelief. |

This seemed the best place to post this pic, as it relates to what we have seen at the servo, this is what happens when there is a camera available.
PS have permission from the owner to post it up. Quote:

I used to work at a Servo, and i had one guy come in every Saturday morning and wash his Audi, with the window squeegee... without getting anything else, or coming in to say or anything... *shrugs* some people are weird.
