Yupe, lots of deadbeats like to jack the price up for the hell of it, especially on a well publicised auction like that. Most weren't even real bids. If you check the bidding history the bids are being cancelled as fast as they are being made. It's only worth around $50K USD maximum. It's not even a real GL TV car, just another clone but this time owned by one of the stars of the series and signed by the cast.
Only in America.

Dukes car will never be worth 12 mil.
Not even if it was the one used in the original series. I say, crash it! LOL.

I was involved in a thread about this not long ago on another forum. One of the members owns 2 Chargers like the one used in the TV series. He commented that he's been offered stupid money for his all numbers matching 440/727 high optioned car by people wanting to turn it into a General Lee fake. The stupid thing is, these TV replicas are pulling as much, or more in this case, as genuine wing cars.

There is a beautiful orange RT getting around with plates like BIG 7L or something, I used to have pics of it from a car show we went to but I deleted them.
