Default Bored, want to make $2 200 000 000

the two blokes that formed YouTube in their garage after working for PayPal have just made good.. YouTube inc. was purchased by Google for 1.65 billion US dollars.

I guess GoogleVideo couldn't crack the market fast enough

Looks like the dot com boom is still booming :P

Just curious, how would you make any money from YouTube? You post up videos and share them around.

Google plan to make money from the extra advertising revenue that youtube will bring in...Ive read a couple of articles, and other competitors are looking for youtube clones to buy also. Wonder what will happen to google videos? And I wonder what they will call it?? Gootube? Yougle? py:

Advertising I think. Most people have been there once and I'm sure links and banners help to generate a lot business, so oogle will make a heap of dollars from people wishing to throw a sponsorship dollar

It will be what happened with Sold.com.au in relation to Ebay.

Youtube and Google Video will combine to make the one online video depository. Becauase Youtube is better known, Google video will cease to exist and Youtube will remain. But it will renamed "Google Youtube" I think, as Google will want to post its trademark on the name.

There's an email doing the rounds of google campus in California where the main offices are. The whole buidling is set up like a house, with couches, bar's, games and exercise machines, they can bring their pets to work and take a break whenever they want. They can order food at any time of the day and every floor has a food outlet.

One guy got evicted from his home and stayed at google for 4 months like a king. They would be worth a fortune

fantastic... now surely with all this collective know how on this site, we can come up with something to flog off to the bigboys?

Speaking of takeovers/buyouts, i know the guy that founded the trademe site, basically, NZ's version of ebay. Got bought out for just under 100 million.. not bad for a young 30's guy huh?
