Selling a Car on eBay & 0 Feedback Bidders

I am selling a car on eBay and out of the 3 highest bidders two of them have just joined.

I have talked to the second highest bidder as he is off one of the forums I am a member off and he pm'd me to tell me he is out as its gone over his limit.

What I am concerned about is these 0 feebdack eBay members are not legit.........

Has anyone here sold an item to a 0 feedback member on ebay and had any issues?

Why worry,your not gonna give them the car before they pay are you?
everyone had zero feedback at one time...

I've never had issues but maybe I just got lucky. As nugget said....you don't part with anything without being paid first anyways....good luck

pretty simple really either the bank cheque clears or they hand you cash THEN they get the keys

Yeah I have to remember that, even if its a Bank Cheque make sure it clears before handing over anything since there are so many theiving *** holes out there

Yeah I sold my XC ute to a guy from Queensland (I am in Newcastle) I had no drammas. I got a deposit of him within a couple of days just so I knew he wasn't stuffing me around. I think you will find that cars are things that attract a lot of first time bidders as when they find a car they want then they join up.

I agree with muppet...cars are one of the things a lot of people will join eBay for...as everyone has said, we all had 0 feedback at one point...give the buyer a chance...

I recently had my Ba Front bar on Ebay, and the winning bidder was also a new member. He was first to bid, subsequently outbid and 2 days later bid again and won the item. Never heard from him again. 8 days to lodge the unpaid dispute, 8 days again to close the dispute and get the final value credit. I can understand your concern, as some of these dudes are deadbeats.

Well i emailed the highest bidder 5 hours ago to see if he or she wanted any more information about the car or any additional photo's of the car.

He or she has not emailed me back yet.............but that just may be that they have not logged back on since they bidded.

Auction Finish's 11.30pm on Sunday, yeah what a good time to finish, he he he !!

Since there are mostly 0 feedback bidders its unlikely the case, but there is a scam where they bid as a 0 feedback bidder, while they bid as an active member as well. Sounds stupid, but they allow the zero to beat them, the traffic can prevent some potential buyers getting involved, then you dont hear from them. Youll get contact from the active bidder trying to get it privately at a better price.

not being an experienced scammer, I may have that somewhat wrong, but that was my take on it anyway.

Ive seen auto auctions where the seller will require confirmed private contact details from the bidder with less than 5 trades to establish their identity, if not, they cancel their bids.

All I know is, never underestimate a scammer. They're some of the most highly creative people. A good scam has no logic until you fully understand how it works, thats why it gets you. As Maxwell Smart said, 'if only they used their genius for niceness instead of evil'.

Give the guy a chance I reckon. I'm not an ebay member myself. I have in the past gotten other people who use ebay regularly to buy things for me and pay them cash but for something like a car I'd sign up myself. For what it's worth, I don't check my email much either, once a week if I'm keen.

We had a car won by Zero feedback person and they didn't take it after they won and they came out to look at the car before they bid and all .The biggest problem is that the others that bid also had moved on so second chance bids were not interested anymore .What I am saying is it can wreck your cars chances of selling ever again on ebay if someone pulls out .
I would insist on contact for first time ebayers but I would not refuse them if they were to make contact and seem genuine .

i was a first time bidder when i bought my car off ebay.. i signed up just to buy the car... but i made regular contact with the seller...

Yes but eBay still hit you with fees and charges based on the final selling price of the car and as someone else posted it can be a fairly lengthy and involved process trying to get this reversed - I went through an even longer dispute process for an item I sold on eBay worth <$10 that the buyer jerked me around with.

Well still no contact from the highest bidder who has 0 Feedback.......very strange

I have 60 people watching the Auction at the moment

Out of the 3 highest bidders 2 of them have 0 feedback.

thats the problems sometimes as being a dummy bidder,just a pain in the *** and time wasting

Well i made contact with the highest bidder as I got their contact details through eBay and everything is fine.

Now all I have to do is wait till tonight when the auction finish's............
