google searches for keywords strung together in sentence like form (correct me if im wrong but this is how i understand it), so when someone enters a search in google such as EXHAUST MODS FOR GT FALCON it searches the sites for that particular phrase, then the next closest thing etc. not just for the individual words like other search engines. Therefore, by that way of thinking, you need your website to contain phrases that you think your intended audience would be looking for and put them in paragraphs and sentences on a page within your website, not just have oodles of keywords.
p.s what is your website? pm it to me if you dont want to plug it here ! |

Search in google, search "Search Engine Optimisation"
Put keywords in the title as opposed to just the company name. Ie for a computer supplies business, instead of Joes Computers, put Joes Computers specialist in Sydney for cpu ram hard drive dvd ipod repair new quality cheap Also use meta tags, and H1 to H6 headers instead of bolding normal paragraph text to make a heading. Don't go too over the top and cut sick on pasting the whole dictionary in your meta tags, google computers are very smart and can sense whether your trying to get an artificially high ranking. Search engines also find your page through links on other webpages it crawls thorugh. And as botch said - Phrases are very important. |

I will have to check my coding, as tho it is only a small site at the moment all pages are full of text/phrases, related to the topic. In regards to the backend part i think ive only done key singular words in the META tags and only on the home page. So i will investigate further. I also have a forum intergrated, which i heard is benificial.
Google usually/always comes up with ff.com.au, thread titles in its searches for say " Ford Falcon etc.... which to me is a pretty powerful thing. Just wondering how can i get to the level that ff.com.au is at. Last edited by MISTA FIESTA; 30-01-2007 at 03:32 PM. |

there is an application out there that can help you optimize and promote your website, called Submit Wolf Pro. It will even submit your website details for you.

One thing google has down pat is its ranking
Google also works on reciprocal links, so get your websites on other sites and it will boost yours. One thing to note if you have a link that is on yahoo's front page it will give you a better ranking than being on 100 pages of your different mates!! it also works on waeighting, plus a few other things.. |

I spent last night adjusting the back end code on all content pages as per instructions suggested above, also used some online tools as keyword generators which was great. Im in talks to get the URL on a few websites, so hopefully that will boost exposure a little.
Im a bit lost with the phrases part.... should i have only one long phrase or a few?? Last edited by MISTA FIESTA; 31-01-2007 at 03:39 PM. |
