Unless I've missed the thread somewhere, I am surprised to not see the story all over the forum this afternoon. I work for Ford and was in the building when it happened but I thought maybe I could fill in my own blanks in the story but theres no mention of it.
The short version is for those that are not aware that around 1130-1140 this morning a B-double semi rolled its way across 8 lanes of traffic a median, over the lawns through some trees before landing itself in the Ford Customer Service Division canteen (northern most end of the complex) The driver was at a local take away shop getting lunch and clearly had not set the brakes properly. The impact was surprisingly minor considering the 'hollywoodness' of the scenario. Aggerz. |

He probably wanted to speak to the manager, seeing as they try to not put you through on the phone he thought he would try another avenue.

Quick.....somebody ring Ford Customer Service and say,
"next time, I'll make sure the semi is fully laden! When I say to the Ford dealer 6 times, there is something wrong with my brakes, I mean FIX THE BRAKES!"

So I guess, if anyone is looking for a job at VISY, give them a week or so to fix the semi and then drop your resume in |

I know :( I would have loved to have taken some but the are pretty strict on cameras/camera phones in the building for confidentiality. I did see some of the warehouse guys though go to their cars, get cameras and then go out the front and take snaps so I am sure some will eventually surface. It's funny to see all the bitching about brakes, Its been a problem I've spent far too much time on, they are one of the 3 thorns in my side: brakes, ICC and batteries. Aggerz. |

I found out today that the owner was supposedly actually buying parts at coburg truck parts on the hume hwy, not getting lunch as originally suggested.
He also called the police when he noticed his truck was missing. so here goes.... BTW.. Just to be clear, I did not take these pictures, so all credit to whoever took them! |

Man, that tow truck looks like a Mardi Gras float. Not that I have ever been, or watched it on TV, but that's what I imagine they look like.

Maybe he thought he might add something more tasty and juicy to the menu. Eother that or the delivery of the current menu was late and he took a short cut.

I hate to get all philosophical but it really is a damn miracle that a truck that size could go that far, pass so many things and 0 injuries. I just know that I wont be sitting near that window anymore that's for sure.. |
