Default Have all the Volvo drivers brought Mercs?

Driving back from Mandurah to Perth this afternoon (80kms) in reasonably busy traffic, I got stuck behind not one, but four Mercs at different times sitting on between 80-90km/h in a 100km/k zone in the right hand lane.

All four had no intentions of moving out of 'their' right lane. I watched amused as the traffic was forced to 'merge left' to get around them before moving back into the right lane.

It just tipifies the arrogant stereotype that was created by the 'Volvo driver' of the 70's and 80's.

Has anyone experienced this too (any car brand) or was I having a frustrating day at the wheel?

I drive in Melbourne. It’s normal driving down here – everyone seems to find a free-flowing lane then block it. The thought of having the right hand lane only as an overtaking lane is absurd to them, after all they are slow therefore they are “safe”!

I tend to find that BMW 318's are The Ultimate Blocking Machine.

Yep, you got it in one!

After having spent 8 hours on an interstate freeway where people tend to stick to the left, driving on the Western Ring is a real eye-opener.

It doesn't matter what they drive. Everyone down here does it. And it sh!ts me to tears. Even the truckies are in on the act. Gimme a motherf@(kin break.

I live in Adelaide and you can't go down a road/street without having at least one person going at least 10-15km/h under the speed limit. Once my father and I had to sit behind a driver in a wait for it...... Toyota CAMRY!!! Travelling at altering speeds ranging from 20km/h to 10km/h under the speed limit in a 60 zone. We were stuck behind them for about 20 minutes. Everyday it is like this but I find it to be worse on weekends and public holidays.

Part of the reason they are in Mercs in the first place.
Screw you , I'm rich, I'll do what i like.
Plus they think all that money they spent must of bought them a greater share of the road.

Does is honestly bother you that much?

In my neighbourhood its the KIA Carnival......Benz are a bit to expensive for the locals.

I am convinced these things are stalking me...

They love to park so close that the only entry point is via the boot and the split fold seat.

Travelling in the right lane is mandatory when you have all 6 kids on board and a 0 to 100kms time of 2 minutes 10 seconds.

pointing out that someone used 1 letter wrongly IS picking on them.
your going to have serious problems here if you cant take 1 wrong letter in a whole post.
look around, there's a lot worse on these forums.

Come off it, I am not commenting on a spelling mistake, or typing mistake, as I am more guilty of this than most!

I was just pointing out the wrong use of a WHOLE WORD.

Reminds me of the year 8 student who puts up his hand to tell the teacher they mispelt a word when he has absolutely no idea about the lesson and hasnt contributed anything to the class, ever.

i dont understand why people feel the need to go 10-20km under the limit. coming back to melb from adelaide i got stuck behind some fool in a kia doing 50-60km in a 100km zone : and the ring road is rubbish. if i can make it from dalton road to the tulla without doing 80km or stopping its a miracle
