Default How low is low enough?

I was just having a look around at springs to lower my XR8. I found that Kings Springs make a Low (30mm drop - Standard XR), Super Low (50mm drop) and Ultra Low (65mm drop).

I have noticed most people on here drop there car to the Super Low spring height.

I was wondering if anyone has used the Ultra Lows and if they have what issues that have encountered.

Also the people who have fitted Super Lows, are there any major down sdies to fitting them other than scaping over some driveways?

Thanks for the info in advance.

well i had the ultra lows in my ute before i put a new front bar on and then it was to low so ive now raised it to just a standard low.
It looks like the bloke that put the ssl's in my car had the guards rolled so the wheels would not rub, other then that it was good.

I've got SSL's all round in my XR8, the only problem is that the front tyres sometimes catch on the lip of the front guard, i will soon be rolling the guards to stop this.

I've got superlows, haven't had any probs at all. I thought there'd be much more scrapage, but they're still practical.

thats because the 19's fill the guards more...

Tech Trainer: Super lows will give ur car a nice lowered look, if you want that dumped look go for the ultra lows but be prepared to do some major angling on driveways and speed humps

you can send your springs back to the supplier to get them reset to a lower height. my mate done this with the springs in his ute. it was a 4-5inch drop in the rear!

I run Super lows. I have hardly any scrapage, even over speedhumps and up driveways. Except my mudguards. Just take it easy and itll be fine.

Buggered if I know what the springs are in mine but it has 580mm between the bottom of the rim to the arch, and it is plenty low. My own driveway is an angle and slow job.

Ultralows make the car look nice but for everyday driving probably a little too stiff the ride is a little bumpy. The car handles nice and it doesn't scrape if you have your exaust tucked up or an aftermarket exaust which is usually tucked up anyway, the only time that it will is when you have a full car and go over steep speed humps.

Next car i get its gonna get pedders as they make low springs that are not to harsh/stiff.
