Default 3.9's or 2800 stall

Easy question, Im after an easy answer. 3.9 diff gears or 2800-3000 rpm stall
I am wanting to hear from people who have them on their cars, either one or the other. I want pros and cons for each.
I travel mostly higways, probably 80 % highways, so fuel economy on the highway is kind of important.

3.9's
Pros: Shorter gear ratios

Cons: Increase in RPM at 100 k's an hour
Need to get the speedo re-calibrated
May hit limiter on 1/4 mile
Stall
Pros: Faster takeoff
No change in RPM at 100k's and hour (lock up?)

Cons: Need transmision cooler

Help would be good guys.
My car is pretty stock other than exhaust and intake, so this is my next step. :dr_Evil:

Yep, the AU6. I was thinking stall, wouldnt use as much fuel, and as I havent got HEAPS of mods, it shouldnt slip into LHM. Plus, it would be a bit more fun at the track. What kind of results are expected with a stall?

Get both:

Stall first though. Try RDP in Brisbane, sit sponsors and do exceptional work apparently.

Stall will get you off the line much smarter, but apart from that, it should be the same.

To be honest, I think the converter might have more of a negative impact on fuel than the gears? Maybe?

My fuel consumption barely increased when I went from 3.45's to 3.91's.

Mostly highway and with a fairmont you alreday have 3.23 diff so go for the stall. it will hurt city economy but not highway where the lock up still works. read about my histall in my gallery and workshop build.
