I reckon its worth it.
I think people take too much notice of the statistics of a car like its age, odometer, and not enough notice of the way the cars been looked after, especially those who are looking to buying them. |

Says on the page that it's an EB II.
Also compared to a lot of other EA-ED series falcon, it has lowish ks.

I personally wouldn't pay $8k for it. It's only worth what someone will pay for it.

My friend is a mechanic, and people are asking drug money for cars at the moment.
LPG centers want around $3k for a basic LPG conversion since the rebate was announced. A nice XR like that, depending on in person condition, is worth the money. I reckon they'd take $6k cash easy too. If I was to sell mine, I'd ask for around $6k. Only because it's been looked after well, and has alot of extras.. Including LPG conversion.

8k is alot of money for an ed, i got my ED xr6 auto 174kms, very very clean, perfect paint n all that for $5,200.
You also gotta look where the location is and who is selling it, it may look good, but ifs its brought off the wrong person, it could have been thrashed about as it is an Xr6, so its probly been driven like one.. - Ash

dangerous thing about lady owners, many (not all) dont get their cars serviced.
whats worse, a car that gets a good ol clean out, and serviced, or a car driven like a grandma and never serviced?

Yes the ladies may hardly ever break 3000rpm or rip a skid as they simply dont care its a car that gets them from A to B, only when something breaks will they fix it. If they nudge a pole in a car park or scrape along the gutter it wont phase them. Car enthusiats on the other hand will quite often take the car to its upper limits. However they will ensure it is reguarly serviced (including diffs & autos), they will do preventative maintenance and they will ensure the car is kept in a above average condition. Its a bit of a gamble car thats potentially been thrashed but taken care of or car thats driven like a granny but neglected... EDIT: Tonko did your mate pay the 8k for it? |

$8000 for an ED XR6? that's a bit harsh. I happen to know where there's an EL2 XR8 for only $1800 more ;)

Freshly rebuilt, Alt, PS pump, Air con, everything.... He is a picky bugger (my mate) and could not find 1 thing wrong with it... If it gives him 3 years of trouble free driving, I dont see the problem?

I sold my old EBII XR6 5 spd, 150,000 kms, AU2 XR8 rims, same colour and condition as that, minus the sunroof, ED front and stereo for 4,900 if that helps anyone.

Well i paid $5800 for my ef2 xr6 just last week, interior is immaculate, body is good other than some stonechips and some faded plastic bits. kms are 225,000 which works out to be 15,000kms. i'm stoked.
