Default Injector Install

Hi,

I have just replaced the head gasket on my 5lt EB Ghia, although when i installed the injectors i dont think ive installed correctly as when cranked, fuel over flows past the injector o-rings and sits on the intake manifold. My question is, when injector is fitted should the top o-ring be visible, i think maybe i have not pushed the injector hard enough into it's recess.

Any help would be great here, thanks.

Justin

You might need to replace all the O-rings, it's not hard to rip one when you're taking them out. You can see the O-ring with the injector installed. I'll try to get a pic later today.

For future reference, you don't need to remove the injectors to remove the manifold, just unclip the fuel rails from the fuel lines and leave the rails/injectors installed on the manifold.

Clackerz, they should all "pop/click" in with a significant "drop" (ie move 5mm inwards upon popping/clicking in). I don't remember whether the o-rings should be visible or not sorry.

o rings shouldnt be visible, you havent put them in far enough....

the o rings seal against the "cups" on the fuel rail, so they need to be up inside it and down inside the manifold......
