SYDNEY was advertised at the time of the olympics for $250,000. Did not sell, its still on the back of a 91 liberty wagon from memory.
Aside from that I saw a Bentley GT today with the numberplate 5 - its real worth is about 30G |

I've seen plates go for way more than that. All of them were 2 didgit plates though.
In the Trading Post this week we have 'SEXY' at $100,000 and XYHO71 at a tiny $2000. |

The prices some ppl ask for plates is crazy...after all its just a number plate.
I any case if U do get a plat for like $10,000, can it be insured? |

You don't need to insure the plate. The actual plate is not what you are paying for. What you are paying for is the letter/number combination.
If the plates get damaged/stolen you just go to your states rego branch and order new ones. |

the "1" plate went for $250,000 apparently....
I saw the plate "FORD" no numbers etc on a real old ford in carlton i think i was.....real old school ford, in mad condition, just parked on the side of some street Quote:
thats usually what people hope for....they buy plates that mean nothing to them, but know some rich person would probably pay for it....and if not, they only really lost $400 |
