So because you think you're ultra special now with a Turbo Taxi instead of an E series Shˇtb0x you can give crap to those who cant afford or dont want a turbo taxi with a six speed bag o spanners!? Crap like you make me sick. Just cause it doesnt have 8 cylinders or 6 you can have a go and make these guys feel like crap!!!! Who the hell do you think you are? Wheezy 4 cylinders, Ill have you know the Fiesta is a Fine car and BETTER put together than even (SHOCK HORROR!!) YOUR taxi! Not all four cylinders are crap, Pull your stupid ar5e into the year 2007, and grow up, I daresay that the XR4 would near put YOU to shame on a track with your fantastic world class Tremec Tranny. You effing knob. you dont like four cylinders? GO BACK TO YOUR APPROPRIATE FORUM! Dont even BOTHER replying, cause your on my ignore list. Tool Last edited by Danny; 23-04-2007 at 05:01 PM. |

You know what's funny though. The Fiesta XR4 you make so much fun of can hose any pre-AUII XR8 Falcon, all the 80s V8 Falcons, and all the 70s stuff except the GT-HO's. That must make you full of pride. Knowing 30 years worth of "V8 muscle," can't beat a 4-cyl economy car. :

If you read what I said I'm not knocking the ColtR as a drivers car as such, it has a cracking little engine & nice steering & frickin unbelievable brakes, very involving.......but........if you were driving that thing to work everyday you would tire of it in about 2 weeks! No doubting the 'bang for your bucks' equation but as an overall package (which is what I'm talking about) it is a fair way behind. Btw, not sure where you're getting the $26,990 driveaway from unless they are still running out 06's which I think could be true as they haven't been selling well |

When comparing cars you should do it stock. Otherwise as Oxygen pointed out it leads to a pointless e-***** competition

Hahaha, look what I've started, me bad :-)
Seriously though, both cars have their good points & will be a pleasure to own, no matter which you choose. Hows that!? Stock Fiesta definately a better base car than Polo there is no debate there. Polo GTI is a cracking little car as will Fiesta XR4 be when it eventually arrives. Hope they change the ST badges on the seats cos sometimes they dont, a la Holden Astra SRI Turbo/VXR with Opel/Vauxhall badging. |

Still I'd go the XR4 over the GTi Anyday. The Stock figures are the same, The Fiesta handles like a Fiesta, has more character, looks better, while the Polo handles like that thing that Noah Drove....
hahaha, Sorry Mitch, I do prefer the Fez ;) |

polo GTI handles well. but just like any car, you have to know how to drive it.
Fiesta handles REALLY well, like a certain Fiesta owner found out...., screaching off the road into the side of a mountain....... and funnily enough its the person who is always mouthing off and saying how well the fiesta handles and how much of a good driver he is. Fair enough handling of the GTI might not be so great incomparison to a GTI 180 pug or maybe a 182. But at the end of the day, those cars are dearer than the GTI polo. But they lack the build quality, fit and finish and standard features. Something has got to give. So if you asked me, do you want something that will A: look great, handle well, have great standard features, put together well using good materials. Great power EVERYWHERE in the RPM range etc etc.. Or B: everything else in the small car market including the old 182 and 180gti, xr4, sport swift which have their own focus points but lack build quality and have lower grade materials, naturally aspirated motors which need to be reved to get the best out of them and some of these cars might handle slightly better than the GTI polo on a track. I would MUCH rather the GTI Polo. Quality is paramount for me, dont want to spend 30 odd thousand dollars on something which falls apart now do we? that would not be a wise purchasing decision. Lets face it, i dont go around fanging through corners 24/7 and i doubt most people on the forum do either. They want something comfortable, quiet, driveable and nice looking. Everyones taste is different. But i take option A thank you

This thread has passed its used by date. Damo made it quite clear of his intentions and know we're just arguing which car WE, as the individual likes best. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, if we all liked the same thing then there would only be one car, and one supermodel and one type of food. Don't try to be a hero thinking you'll convince someone to buy the car you like best and live happily ever after.
