Smile EF XR6 Wagon

Right next to where i work there is a used car yard. The other day i noticed that they had a EF XR6 wagon complete with 180K, T5 and Red in colour.

They want 8K for it. I am really tempted to get it however is 8K a fair price for one?? I have never seen any others for sale here before to compare prices with, So should i go for it?? :

I've seen a few advertised for 4 grand, auto and on lpg. The ads only lasted a week.

Paid 6 grand for mine. 320,xxxkms but motor rebuilt.

Still get a kick outta looking at the XR badge on the dash then looking in the rear view mirror and remembering I'm in a station wagon.

A friend gave me a good piece of justification, put it in the retirement fund.

39 le mans red EF XR6 station wagons with a 5 speed manual were built. Total build numbers for the EF XR6 station wagons are about 300-400 odd. Someone will know exact figures. XR6WGN (I'm sure it's his username) should know the exact figures. ED XR6 wagons were on the order of 200 built. And that's it. There were only ED and EF ones made, and not many.

yeah they only built 39 red ones

they built 476 all up. 198 of which were manual and 278 auto's. they are quite rare.

i had one. i assume you are on fordmods as well. pics are in my gallery on there. i sold mine for $7k last year with 293000 km's on the clock. had exhaust and lowered and 130rwkw and went very hard. the guy who bought it couldn't believe how well it drove considering the km's. if looked after they will go the distance.

i regret selling mine and it looked a lot better than that one too in my opinion.

before the ba came out they were still fetching upwards of $9k. the fact that the ba is such a nice car has forced the price down. people do tend to look at them as a sporty wagon instead of an xr6. i was always reminding people that it was still an xr6.

i'd say $6-7k would be reasonable. 180km's is not that much. my brother sold his auto one about 8 mnths before i sold mine for $8200.
