Default Is my car a Ghia

Hi all, I was always told that my car was a Fairmont Ghia 1995, But there are no badges or wood trim. Is there any way that I can check if it is a Ghia ie, a stamp somewhere or something.
Regards

post some pics of it, interior and exterior, cause I think that there may be a few features to help people out.

If it has the red Tickford engine its a Ghia, but I think they were only available from EFII, so its not definitive.

But not all ghia's had the tickford engine did they? It was an extra on the EF Fairmont but I didnt think It was standard on the Ghia's. But I'm not 100%.

Ring Ford with the VIN, they'll tell you over the phone.

No AFAIK it was standard on Fairmont Ghia from EF series 2 onward and not an option at all. The Fairmont just had the regular 6.

Bosimasan, what do you mean by no badges? Has the car been debadged or does it just have Fairmont badges but no Ghia badges? I thought woodgrain trim was the only way Ghias came. What is the badge in the bootlid facia? It should be the Ghia badge if it is one, or the Fairmont badge is an F I think.

on a similar subject, what makes it a Tickford engine?
I opened up a friend's AU futura the other day and noticed it had the red rocker cover, snorkel and CAI in it just like an EFii Ghia... :S

Your right about the bootlid facia Powdered Toast Man, the Ghia has the Ghia symbol obviously and the Faimont has an (F). The Fairmont has the (F) symbol also just above the glove box and the Ghia has the symbols on the front door cards and wood grain. I also think (not sure) the Ghia had standard Leather and the double decker type stereo.

Ghia had the door pockets in the rear doors, not just the front. I think it also had the leather steering wheel. EF series 1 did not have the 3.45 LSD like the EF2 or EL.

Are you thinking it's a regular Farimont or do you think it's one of the base models?

As said before, pics would be of some help.

i agree with the pictures, but i doubt u will be ridiculed, the whole point of this forum is to gather information and discuss topics that interest people and get a veiw on it? i doubt that by asking for assistance in E-Series that you would be ridiculed, they shoul'd be more than welcome to help you if you ask for it!

They will, some are just paranoid. Pics will help mate, but then again not to difficult to make a copy. VIN is the way to go.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was. The AU Fairmont Ghia had the VCT engine standard, same as the XR6 VCT, not the standard XR6 engine. But it had less power due to the more restrictive exhaust compared to the XR6.

AU I6 - 157kw
XR6 HP (non VCT but upgraded from regular I6) - 164kw
XR6 VCT - 172kw
Fairmont Ghia (VCT) - 168kw

Not absolutely sure about the XR6 HP output but I think that's right.
