Hey Guys.
The time has come where I am looking at selling my car. I need to figure out if I'm asking too much... I'll list the car and what I reckon it's worth and let me know what you think.... 2002 AU3 XR6 HP 5Speed Manual 140,000kms Blueprint Blue Mostly standard except for the following mods. Haltech Interceptor fully tuned by Auto Tech Lowered SSL King Springs - Still have originals as well Splitfire Leads and plugs Tickford air intake K and N Panel Filter Pacemaker 4480 Comp headers ceramic coated Metal Catz 3" Hi-flo Cat Lukey 2.5" sports cat back exhaust Twin stainless tip for looks. Tickford LSD Racing Heavy Duty Clutch replaced at 132,000kms Nokia CK-7W bluetooth Car kit Full Stereo upgrade to: Kenwood DDX6039 DVD reciever with 7" LCD (fits full double din well) JL Audio 5x7's all round JL Audio 12" Comp Sub JL Audio 2 Channel and 4 Channel Comp Amps Full Cadence Cabling right through. All accessories fitted are Ford Genuine - Towpack, Headlight Covers, Mud Flaps and slim weather shields, 17" Tickford Rims. Tinting and Wynns protection done when car was purchased. This car has always been great, gets serviced every 8000-10,000 and always replace with high quality parts....I don't like doing things twice, so I usually take the more expensive option if I see the value. I drive Parra area to Penrith for most of it's driving so good run on M4 both ways and get a good 600-700 kms per tank. The Haltech Interceptor has taken standard power from 118rwkw (stock) to 141rwkw and improved fuel economy fairly well. That's all I can think of at the moment....I don't have any pics on this pc, but I'll try and upload them sometime....the car looks very very clean and sharp as I get is washed on average every fortnight at a mate's carwash where they take very good care of the car. At this stage I don't think i'd be asking too much if I listed it at $15500, but tell me if you think otherwise... Thanks guys and gals. Mike Last edited by groops; 12-02-2008 at 08:47 PM. |

Always a tough one, but having said the vehicle is desirable, last of the true XR6's, manual, its Blueprint.
The k's are not too bad but getting a bit on the high side when asking for top dollar, still worth listing it for 15k if in top condition and see how the offers go. |

Sounds like an awesome car, but IMO it's a little too much.

I think its to expensive... but price is also set by the body condition... i think we need to see pics for that reason.

to me it's expensive... but.. thats only coz it's a 6... but good list of mods... and power.. km's are a little high for top end money as was said... also pending body condition.. but you said it's been well looked after... i might be a good price for the niche market... but for the general market... i think it's too high..
but.... a car worth whatever someone will pay for it.. |

Attached pics of car.
As far as mileage...what I forgot to mention about before is that the engine was rebuilt at 105000kms...this was because in 04 something was replaced in the engine and Ford didn't reseat the valve guide for cylinder 5 properly and it eventually fell into the cylinder...so in turn engine had to be rebuilt....Don't know if this works for or against the car....IMO it's a good thing cause the engine is practically 35000kms new....but some people think that this is not a good thing.... Anyways....pics attached....hopefully... |

Mate...not being nasty, just honest, the engine was not "rebuilt" at 105,000ks
It was taken apart, possibly some broken parts replaced, and put back together. Ford certainly did not shout you a rebuild, they would have replaced ONLY what was absolutely necessary to replace..no more, hopefully no less. Having said that, 140.000 is not much really for a Ford six |

It still cost me $1200 of the $4800 engine 'fix' if that's what you wanna call it. I would've thought for that figure it'd been rebuilt. Extended warranty paid $2000 as they had to and factory warranty paid like $800...As I said, I would've though for that figure it was rebuilt. Mate's Vectra was 'rebuilt' by a mechanic I know and it cost him just over $5000....but yeah....ok, thanks again guys.
