It all depends on what noise it's making - if it's a squealing noise it could be the infamous AU handbrake which is a common problem for a lot of people. If it's a knocking noise it could be wheel bearings.

Just fixed that problem with mine when the worn out wheel bearing also chewed out the hub. It would make a knocking noise under acceleration and when turning left (problem was on drivers side).

My car also makes a noise, and it is really annoying me. It sounds like its coming from the rear drivers side. Its not a clunking noise, can mostly hear it at low speed, sounds like a flat tyre, tends to go after you apply the brakes. Thought it was bearing noise, but from the description from you guys it doesn't seem to be. Then I thought maybe looseness in the tailshaft joints, but there is no vibrations. I thought it was the Dunlops, I changed them to the Firestones which are much more quiet, but it is still there. Took it to Ford, they said it was just normal road noise! I said it didn't have this road noise 10k ago. So it doesnt vibrate, clunk or screach. More like soft thumping noise like you have a flat but only at low speeds. Cant hear it at high speeds. Is it Diff related?

I know Benn, Its a squeeking noise and its consistent with the tyre rotation. Each revolution it squeeks. Squeek, squeek, squeek as you drive down the road. All he does is ever so slightly touch his breaks and the noise staops.

Handbrake.

It'll need adjusting (as does mine and every other au).

I'm off down south soon so I'll have to do mine on the weekend.

I did mine at the wheels and also at the handbrake lever about 6 months ago but my big-fisted brother yanked up the handbrake a couple of months ago and it hasn't been right since.

Probably the trick, once it's adjusted, is not to be overly enthusiastic when applying the handbrake.
I found that when it was adjusted it didn't take a lot of lever for the brake to hold.
