Hey i have searched for this and cant find the information im lookin for... So here it goes.
I have a AU fairmont that i want to put either 3.73-3.9 gears in and also LSD. Can i just buy 28 spline lsd hemisphere and gears and put them in or not? Thanks |

yes, you also need to change the yoke to suit the gears but thats it.

it comes with the gear set, you have the gear that bolts onto the hemisphere and the yoke which is the gear driven by the tailshaft. My terminoligy is rubish so I'm probably calling it the wrong thing, personally I would pay someone else to do it, I've worked on enough diffs to be quite happy never to touch one again.

Your talking about the pinion, in the gear sets you have to change the crownwheel and pinion as a pair, they are matched sets. And then they need to be shim'd to align them properly. Best left to a professional if you have no experience with them.

Yes, but you dont change the yoke, the yoke is the front part that bolts to your tailshaft, but to change diff gears you do have to remove the yoke, in order to remove the pinion.
