Default Melbourne - Good Karma (Car Thieves)

Well just this week there were two incidents in inner-Melbourne.

The first was a man who stole some jewellery, etc from a parked car at the Richmond North railway station and then after running up towards the tracks he was hit and killed by a train.

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...34-661,00.html

The second incident occurred this morning and the offender who had attempted to steal a car, tampered with a fuel tank in a Holden Barina causing it to explode. He was taken to hospital (sadly).

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...006785,00.html

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Great to see these scum bags taking themselves out.

Hopefully we'll see some more of this and gradually weed out this scum through evolution. Darwins theory at it's best.

They deserve all they get people work hard for what they have got in most cases and even if you only own a $1000 car it is still your way to get the kids to school and shop etc then some lowlife steals it. hard to drive a car with yr hands and face burnt off oxygen thief might think about messing with what dont belong to you next time.

Do you mean shame that he was injured and taken to hospital or shame that he survived and was able to be taken to hospital??

I would say that it's a shame that he being seen to by a Doctor instead of the Coroner. Sorry mate you got exactly what you deserve.

Yeah. I meant shame that he was taken to hospital and helped, when other good honest people have to wait for hours in ER departments.

Yeah, sad that our justice system is not just at all.

There should be no law that enables this to happen. It's a bloody joke.

Ie, house robber can sue for damages and it has been done in the past.

You gotta ask the question, how do you make a fuel tank explode?
Was he looking in to it with a cigarette lighter?

It obviously had to involve either a naked flame or a spark of some sort. Not a very wise person me thinks.

I think it's a good thing he survived. Coping the burns he did would put him a fair amount of pain and discomfort for a long time. Along with caught and now having to face the consequences, I think it's a good result. Sucks to be him

True in a way, but we end up paying for it. Scum like this don't usually have jobs and live off the tax payer. So we're paying for his medical care and whatever follows.

Not a great result.

All well and good, but we seem to forget about the train driver who through no fault of his own will have to have counseling and time off work.

Instead we pay for thier rehab, jail and doll cheque when they get out.

Yeah, you're quite right. The train driver is the innocent party here who was just doing their job. I've seen train drivers being blamed for deaths (e.g: Bentleigh, 2004) by grieving friends of the person who was killed.

The train drivers have to live with that image for the rest of their lives. Some don't return to work.

I think this has run its course.

Just because they were car thieves didn't mean they deserved to die, think of the other people involved. the train driver, any witnesses, the victim/offenders family.

Christ there are more important things than cars people. They are replaceable, lives are not.
