Default Rough gear shift

hi everyone,
just took delivery of my Focus CL few days ago, I notice when it come to a near full stop (for eg. at traffic light) the gear will make a rough shift, kind of jerky and I can feel the car being knocked. The Ford service people reckon this is normal ?!? Are you experiencing same thing ?
cheers,
Fish

Exclamation

It changes into 1st gear when coming to a near stop at slow speed, I could feel it (just a little) and hear it happening.

Can't remember what it felt like, its been a while since owning an Auto focus.

Maybe yours is changing too early, and the timing is out??

yeah it is definitely out of timing, and I could feel it not just a little, the car is knocked forward. I filled 98 petrol in 2 days ago and the problem seem to lessen itself... weird..
have booked it in for a road test by ford technician.

there is a problem with the trans. There is another thread on here with this issue.
Dont let ford tell you its normal.
There is a problem with seals in the trans, the band apply piston.

If they keep saying its normal, roll on the floor and chuck a narny... they will soon come out and have a look at your car.

Good luck - our 2008 LT focus has been back to the dealer 4 times so far with this problem. They have basically wiped their hands of the problem, citing it happens on all Focus's (but not on the focus we test drove). Even contacting the Customer Relationship Centre of Ford in Melbourne and raising the issue with them got no-where . Will be contacting the Dealer Principal at our local dealer next, and if he does nothing, will be contacting the Office of Fair Trading here in Brisbane

My daily is an 07 Zetec and does the same thing- at first it was really bad but now is getting slighty less "clunky". if I am in the sports/manual mode it is TERRIBLE coming to a stop.
I plan to get it checked too so will see what the dealer says.

I saw that and already mentioned it in writing to both the local dealer and Ford in Melbourne - they both ignored it
now writing to dealer-principal, next will be office of fair trading
