Default 1993 XR2 Auto Fuel Problems

I have just purchased an XR2 ran beautifully when I test drove owner stated no issues (of course) but then hard to make it run well and then stop. Then after driving for a couple of hours fuel went below 1/4 and it started running sluggish and almost stalling and felt like it was not getting any fuel. Filled it up and ran great. Then after a 30 minute drive started revving and idling high and then stopped and won't start. Getting it towed to a mechanic any ideas???

Australian Ford Capri XR2 I gather - welcome to the Forums! Those symptoms don't ring any bells for me - sounds like it could be 2 problems. First step see if there are any fault codes on the ECU.
