Question conversion

G'day

First: A happy new year to all!! :

Its been months that I have visited this forum but things have changed and I should be able to start working on my 1967 Cortina MK1.

The motor in this old girl is very very tired......Carbi is leaking, apperently not much compression etc etc doesnt get fuel and there is (same as the owner) not a bright spark happening. The car has been sitting in a shed since 1993. I really like to get started asap but need advice on the motor. I am not after performance, speed or what ever. I want a reliable Sunday cruiser.
Do I rebuilt the motor or go for a conversion??
I do not want to get rid of the collum shift auto!!
Is there a good "rebuilder" in the Brisbane south/Logan area??

What do you think?

Thanks Renee

Rebuild the engine if it is still the original - sorry I can't help with anyone in your area but it really shouldn't be a problem for any reputable engine shop. A conversion will be quite an expensive exercise by comparison.
