G'Day,
We need to empty the old oil out of mums xr6 and replace it with new oil. To be honest I have only ever topped diffs up, and replace them. Not flush them! So with that, just a quick question. Is the a drain plug of some sort on a non irs xr diff? If there is, where is it? If there isnt, whats the best way to drain the diff's oil? Cheers, Matt

hey there Matt
from the looks of it the only way is to use a oil purge pump or close to from the one acess point at the rear. you can flush it out with kero if need be. marty |

Drain plug would be the lowest bolt in the backing plate ..

It's simply in theory, but a very hard job to do without a hoist, and smelly! Let us know how you go.

lol I took the diff hat off my old fairlane to inspect a slight thunk once (missing most of its teeth.. whoops)
That made a little mess, and a smelt like broken diff for a week..
