Sure, just got back from 5 days at Surat chasing pigs. No guns or bows, just dogs and knives. Back to basics.

Spent a week at Cobar late last year, got heaps of goats and couple of pigs. Use a .375 Winchester mostly, have also the usual shotty, .303, .22 etc, but actually looking at a .17HMR, seems a good calibre for foxes/goats/roos.

We're up in the midst of pig country here, Ivanhoe NSW. There just hasn't been much around lately due to alot of hunters with dogs, they kill everything, from piglets right up.

We hunt with rifles and they range from a 20g shot gun, 30-30 Winchester, 22-250 Ruger, 222, 22, and a twin matched set of 308 Rifles

I love the .17's but they are a bit small for goats and roos.

Agree.. great rifle for long distance shots but will suffer if there's a cross wind and wont pack enough punch for bigger game unless you get a good head shot.
A mate had 1 and we used to drop rabbits from 250m shooting into a valley with a mild breeze blowing into our face and they'd just fall over without spooking the others...

Which reminds me Roy, any time you want another place to have a shot let me know. The boys would love to return the favour Owen as well ;)
