Hey all...my Laser has a temp gauge that barely moves...earthed the gauge...it seems ok, so the thermostat will be changed..the one in there opens and closes, but can anyone suggest the correct temperature range that I should put in...ie: the factory one?

Don't know what you mean? If it's not getting warm good for you, generally the problem is getting too hot. :P

If the thermostat was in the system it would raise the temperature
so it is my guess from what you describe someone has removed the thermostat I would suggest you buy the one for the standard fitting listed for the car add the coolant or anti freeze depending on where you live and go from there also flush your radiator out at the same time

The temp barely gets past the mark at the very bottom, the heater has a warm attitude so i figure it's running too cold, got told by a mate that if a car runs too cold then the fuel doesnt burn and leave very efficiently...is this true? I'd be happy if the temp got to a quarter....

fuel economy and fouling plugs may occur
lots of problems when the car isnt running at temperature you cant really tune it properly get the thermo problem looked at when you can

I had a similar problem with my KB but on a recent trip to the city I discovered that my thermostat was working properly because when I was waiting at the traffic lights with my foot on the brake and the car in drive, The temp went up to quarter way and remained there but went down when I began moving again.

Can anyone help me find the thermostat in my ford last 92 model? I know nothing about cars and I have been told that my thermostat could be the problem and to remove it.

follow the top radiator hose to where it meets the motor
there should be a housing that unbolts under that housing should be the thermostat search images of thermostat and thermostat housing in google if it helps http://images.google.com.au/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi

Also never add cold water... make sure it is room temp otherwise without the thermostat you can crack your head
