Default Pagani C9 Prototype

This one's a wee bit old, but in case someone hasn't seen it yet, here's some spy shots of the new Pagani C9 Prototype.

With the Zonda F Roadster being one of my dream cars, I must say I'm a lil' disapointed in the direction this one seems to be heading in with its tamed design; They've gone from something that looks wild and ridiculous, a Pagani trademark, to something that's slipping back into the same catergory as a F430. Horacio Pagani created something that had no boundaries, but his latest creation seems too conformist for a Pagani badge.

Thoughts on the C9, and what's been seen so far?

To me looks like a natural progression for the pagani brand. I think the new C9 will look amazing, the looks might be a bit toned down compared to the zonda, but with twin turbo 700hp V12 it will be still as mental as the original.

They have only made one car and that was designed quickly and on the cheap (they refined it well over its 10 year life). This new car had a great development cycle and a sizable budget. Which has me at no doubts that it'll be a world beater and hopefully under 450000gbp.

Back when Mercedes still owned Chrysler they did a show car called the ME four-twelve.
It was meant to have been based on the proposed next generation Pagani.

Don't think you can read anything into those images, heavily camoed and chances are it's a mocked-up mule anyway.

As above its far to early and far to 'camo'd' to tell what the eventual design will look like that said going from those pics i would call it 'tame'

The new Pagani Huayra has just been announced:

Link & piccys from the EVO magazine website:
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/26...e_gallery.html

It's got a form of active aero (left and right rear spoilers that can go up and down to aid cornering & braking - I've seen this before but I cant remember where (something tells me a Car & Driver tech article))

"New Pagani Huayra supercar - the big picture gallery
The new Pagani 'C9' Huayra has been unveiled. Pictures, video and details of the Zonda replacement here
By Henry Catchpole

January 2011
Pagani's 700bhp successor to the Zonda is finally here and it’s called the Huayra. The new creation from Pagani is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 made exclusively for the car by AMG. This is mated to a seven-speed automated manual gearbox which weighs less than a double clutch transmission and helps keep the overall kerb weight down to just 1390kg. The top speed is claimed to be over 235mph and 0-60mph is expected to take just 3.2sec.

Active suspension and, even more intriguingly, active aerodynamics have both been developed for the Huayra. The level of detail is as beautiful as we have come to expect from the small Italian manufacturer, with the exposed carbonfibre weave matching immaculately between components. Mind you, the car needs to feel pretty special as it is going to cost in the region of £1,000,000 when it goes on sale this Spring.

We have a gloriously detailed photo shoot and all the information on those active aerodynamics in issue 154 of evo, on sale Wednesday February 2"

Looks suspiciously similar to a Ferrari 458 Italia to me.

Pagani is the REAL supercar maker these days - as evidenced by the looks, both inside and out, of what a 12 year old would design (as the cliché used by Clarkson).

Can't wait to see an on track video!

i struggled to imagine how they could better the zonda in any way, the zonda is just incredible in every model they made of it but the new one actually does look like a great successor.

I think this one will be every bit as incredible as the zonda and a little better in every way.

Love it!

Love what looks like flaps on the front boot for what looks to be either for downforce or air brake or maybe both.

Unbeliveable how low it is at the front. Looks like it would grind over cats eyes.

Is that saddle trim?

no way! that interior is amazing!!! the leather, the alu, the fit and finish looks superb.

That whole car is just beautiful! way better than a zonda!

funny the comparisons of the 458 looking like a zonda. I hate the way Zonda's look. cannot stand them, but i love the looks of a 458!
