mine does about 350km, it mostly depends on how you drive, plus the condition of the engine. correct me if i'm wrong but i think there was a fair bit of improvement in fuel economy with the 4.0L EBII engine.

I was getting around 300km's per tank, swapped ECU, leads and plugs and it's getting around 450, and idles/runs alot smoother, but I think that's due to the new plugs.

Another fuel consumption thread...?

Filled up the EA2 wagon today, I don't go by tank size, only by how many k's I've done and litres I put in it when I fill it up. Got about 400km from ~55L, which is around 14L p/100km on premium. Sucks, but it's only two or three more than the old Telstar.
nfi how you can get sub-10's with an EA, but 350km from a 60L tank means... 17L p/100km. It's probably a good idea to get that checked out dude...

mine does about 425km fuel economy with the 5.0L ED engine with big cam E303. the old motor did 525 and was worn out. I don't know if this is good or bad, but it's what I consistently get. First 1000k run-in period I only got 300k to a tank.

i checked the ECU today and found that one of the conections wasnt sitting as flush as it should. does anyone think this may have something to do with my bad fuel econ?

That is F@RKEN AMAZING economy!!! I get barely 450kms out of a tank, and i'm averaging 14.5L/100! Now I know what she's capable of - time to get mine tuned I think.

14.2 is pretty good I think. Best I've ever got is 13.75 on premium, usually 14-16something.
To get your `whole tank' economy, divide how much you filled the tank with (for instance, 55.2L) by how many k's you did /100 (eg, if you did 452km, divide by 4.52). 55.2/4.52= 12.21L p/100km.

my ea gives me upto 700km's on the open road from tiptop full to sucking the fumes empty driving at average 100km's per hour. It has over 300,000km on clock and worn 4 speed auto. Is only standard size fuel tank also.
I was thinking this might have been normal having not owned one before but I'm now thinking is maybe better than average?

I used to be getting about 300 to a tank, but after changing the oxy sensor I have gone to 550 easily. For the $70 or so that it costs, I highly reccomend it.

Assuming your car is an I6, then yeah, that is normal. The difference between city and highway can be quite amazing. I get under 400 ks to a tank around town, but the couple of times I have gone on really long highway runs, it gets up to around 700.

I get fantastic economy mixed city / motorway driving i get about 9-10L/100kms..
I think if u drive with a light foot, the difference between manual and auto is huge.

3.9L, 5speed, 3.08gears, full zorst+extractors, XR head & wade cam.

i average around 400-450kms to a tank with a good mix of suburb/freeway. a couple of tanks i've made it to 500 but that only happens rarely. i havn't taken it for a full tank of freeway driving with how it is at the moment yet
