sydney sider's and central coast car enthusiasts ... where there is a will thers a way... it seems as though all our options are being taken away for experiencing some LEGAL driving fun. with oran park out of the picture, we are left to Wakefield park and Eastern Creek and some select few locations.. but ther is potential within real estate currently not being utilized by us enthusiasts, and what a lovely piece of real estate that is
all we need is one of you who's established in the business world to make a few calls and talk to a gentlemen by the name of Dean Wills, ex CEO of coke and Chariman of many companies .... in his possession is a property which would be very valuable to generating another option of exerting some passionate driving .... EXHIBIT A: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?ie=UTF8&...mp;t=k&z=16 a private driveway (for council purposes ofcours -bullf*nsh*t ) which i feel is being drastically under utilized, would you not agree... can someone organise for a barby with this bloke and im sure after a few kegs it wont be under utilized any more! this is potential racetrack or even drag strip quality material , apparently with race grade bitumen already layed on it.. WHY/HOW is a place like this not being changed in a public track, the acoustics would be amazing ripping off the surrounding ridgelines soo much potential guys... can anyone shed some light on some more information about this place |

So what's in the area surrounding it? Any people likely to cause an uproar at the prospect of converting it?

Found out a bit of info regarding this 'Private Track' today ;)
It was built by the owner (a very wealthy man who apparently owns an assortment of exotic cars) as a request from his wife after he crashed one of his cars (McLaren perhaps???) on the street. The track was originally only meant to be 2.1km long. He submitted it to council and 3 out of 4 (or 4 from 5??) of his surrounding neighbours complained and it didn't go through. So he bought them out and then made it the approx 5.2km you see today. It isn't exactly open to the public, however I know of at least one company who uses it for their 'track days'. Through them, you can drive around one of the many 'Super Cars' they have available for hire on their lot. Apparently a recent TV commercial with (Kasey Stoner???) was recorded there as well. So there you go ;) |

guys, forget it!
from what I've been told, it was only given approval on the condition that there would be no racing there, and IIRC, no more than once car on circuit at any one time. he was apparently approached about doing some go kart racing there, and even that wasnt going to be possible. the best bet was Marulan Driver Training Centre... but even that was knocked back by council when they tried to get some racing happening there. |

there's a rumour of a Motorcycle track to be built in my home town of Bombala (it's exactly half way between melbourne and sydney). it would be good for the town, but already there are protests against it. WTF? it hasn't been announced and there's already people against it! and there's nothing here to disturb other than sheep. some people hate progress, even in a dying town.
